Yesterday Zero Hedge ran this story:
“Greece’s Foreign Minister Nikolaos Kotzias is to visit Moscow on Wednesday to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s Interfax and TASS news agencies reported on Monday citing a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry.” In other words, at precisely the same time as the FinMin is in Brussels discussing the fate, or lack thereof, of Greece in the Eurozone, the new Greek foreign miniser will be in the Kremlin, getting instant updates from Brussels and perhaps discussing the fate of Greece in the Eurasian Economic Union. Or put in the simplest of terms, tomorrow Greece will decide: Europe, or Russia.
It is, is it not, strange that while western media is reporting that Russia has been brought to its knees by US / EU economic sanctions yet the Greeks, Cyprus and Hungary are turning to Moscow for economic salavtion, or that militarily it is cowering in the face of Obama’s threats to arm the Kiev Governmment, but Merkel and Hollande have pirouetted towards Moscow in the hope of brokering a peace deal before Ukraine is overrun by the irregular forces of the pro-Russian separatist militias.
Whatever you read in the propaganda machine that is mainstream media, it always pays to dog a bit deeper if you want to know what is really going on in the world.
