I have referred many times to a large plaque that adorned the lobby in the Baittement Jean Monnet, Luxembourg, and which I passed every morning on my way to the office that was my workplace during a consultancy contract for the EU commission, which quoted the man recognised as the father of the European Union as saying (as well as I can remember) “The aim of the European Project is to join the nation states in ever close union until they are joined in political and economic union. In the future there will be no Germans, no French, No Italians or people of any other nationality, there will only be Europeans.”
Unfortunately I have never been able to find those words online, perhaps they are something he said on the opening of the building. There is plenty more from the man to convince you that the European Union is heading towards the kind if future envisaged by Hitler, Mussolini, Bonaparte, Charles V of Spain and Francis I of France, the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent; Abd-ar-Rahman, Caliph of Moorish Iberia and a few bits of France and Julius Caesar.
Over to Jean Monnet
There will be no peace in Europe if the States rebuild themselves on the basis of national sovereignty, with its implications of prestige politics and economic protection (…). The countries of Europe are not strong enough individually to be able to guarantee prosperity and social development for their peoples. The States of Europe must therefore form a federation or a European entity that would make them into a common economic unit.
Europe’s nations should be guided towards the superstate without their people understanding what is happening. This can be accomplished by successive steps, each disguised as having an economic purpose, but which will eventually and irreversibly lead to federation.
Have I said clearly enough that the Community we created is not an end in itself? It is a process of change, continuing in that same process which in an earlier period produced our national forms of life. The sovereign nations of the past can no longer solve the problems of the present: they cannot ensure their own progress or control their own future. And the Community itself is only a stage on the way of the organized world of tomorrow.
OK, if you still need to be convinced that no good can come of staying in the EU and are convinced by the scarmongering from globalists like Cameron and Obama, here’s a thought from me (i.e. I don’t know who said it first):
For those who live in fear everything is a threat.
Will TTIP Make Europe A Colony Of The USA?
