Over 4000 Civilians Have Died In Forgotten War.

Saudi attacks on Yemen, as bad as anything we’ve seen in Syria but US liberals are not screeching about it and Obama has said nothing. Wonder why that is? (source: sachtimes.com)

As attention has focused on Syria ans then on the efforts of the Obama administration, in its dying months, to avenge the defeat of the anointed successor Hillary Clinton and discredit the election victor and President – elect Donald Trump, and simultaneously demonize Russia and President Putin to such an extent that cooperation between the nations would be impossible for decades to come (Obama failed in that as he has failed in everything since being shoe horned into The White House) people  have been dying in industrial quantities in one of the forgotten wars Obama supported.

For several years the Houthi (Shi’ite) rebels, backed by Iran were doing well against the Sunni Muslim regime that was propped up by the theocratic despot in Saudi Arabia, then when it looked as if the puppet regime was about to fall, Saudi Arabia, with the support of the USA, took up  a direct role in the conflict, supplying ground support to the regime and carrying out air strikes on military and civilian targets in Houthi – held areas. This report is from Russia today, needless to say what little coverage wesern media have given the genocide in Yemen has consisted totally of American propaganda.

Over 4,000 civilians killed, aid blocked, zero accountability – Human Rights Watch exposé of Yemen war

via Russia Today

Since a Saudi-led coalition intervened in the Yemeni conflict on behalf of its ousted president, at least 4,125 civilians have been killed, most in coalition bombings, Human Rights Watch says in its annual report. The organization paints a grim picture of the situation, saying that Western backers of the intervention, particularly the US and Britain, don’t appear to be willing to investigate alleged war crimes perpetrated by the coalition, despite mounting evidence.

“Foreign governments have continued to sell weapons to Saudi Arabia, despite growing evidence the coalition has been committing unlawful airstrikes. US and UK lawmakers, whose governments altogether approved more than $20 billion and $4 billion worth of weapons sales, respectively to Saudi Arabia in 2015 alone, have increasingly challenged the continuation of these sales,” the human Rights Watch report said.

The Saudi coalition’s continued operation in Yemen depends to a high degree on support from the US and UK, which provide weapons, targeting intelligence, air refueling for coalition jets, and diplomatic cover for the entire campaign, believes Abayomi Azikiwe, an editor for Pan-African News Wire. This may explain why the Yemeni situation is getting relatively little news coverage in those countries, he told RT.

“The war is largely hidden from the people who live in the Western countries. Here in the United States, there is virtually no information, particularly on television news sources. And the same situation largely exists in Britain as well,” he said, adding “it is an unsustainable and an unjustifiable position that the United States and Britain have taken in this war.”

According to October figures from the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the conflict has claimed the lives of at least 4,125 civilians and left at least 7,207 wounded, with the majority of the casualties resulting from coalition airstrikes.

HRW has documented “58 apparently unlawful coalition airstrikes” that have killed nearly 800 civilians. The Saudi coalition has hit homes, markets, hospitals, schools, civilian buildings, and mosques. Among the deadliest attacks in 2016 was the bombing of a market in northern Yemen on March 15 that killed 97 civilians, and the October bombing of a funeral in the capital, Sanaa, in which 100 perished.

The report says Saudi Arabia may be deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure in Yemen, which, if true, would constitute a war crime.

There will be apologists for the neoliberal Obama regime who scream that we cannot rely on anything Russia Today published because the Cocksucker – in – Chief Barack Obama says RT is a Fake News site. Ignore them, Russia Today, a web news operation staffed by independent journalists, many of whom quite US, UK or European media organisations, disgusted as the way world events were misrepresented to serve the globalist agenda, is as reliable as corporate Fake News sites such as the Washington Post, The New York Times, CNN and The BBC.

In other words trust none of them, question everything. In this case we checked the (Same link as above to make sure no – one misses it) and the Russia Today report turns out to be totally reliable.
