The COVID Craptangle – Chaos Continues, The Blame Game Begins

There was such a kerfuffle stink about school exam grades earlier this week, that someone seems to have thought it a good day to bury the further bad news, and announce a whole series of quarantines to add to our sense of imprisonment.

Apparently the determining threshold, revealed out of the blue along with the French quarantine, is an infection rate of 20 per hundred thousand. It might have been nice to have been told that before. Given that the infection rate in some areas of the UK is higher, shouldn’t we be quarantining those who have been there when they move around the country too?

While mainstream media were having fits about A-level grades,  someone obviously thought it a good day to bury bad news, and quietly announced a whole series of unnecessary and irrational extensions to quarantines  as if we needed to be reminded we are to add all effectively still under curfew if not actual house arrest.

Apparently the determining threshold for imposting travel restrictions, revealed out of the blue along with the French quarantine, is an infection rate of 20 per hundred thousand or 0.002 per cent. Any competent statistician or mathematician would tell you that in terms of human population is not statistically significant, certainly it is not worth further trashing the economy for. Given that the infection rate in some areas of the UK is higherthan that threshold, we should, should we not, we be quarantining those who have been there when they move around the country too?

Local lockdown rules are in many cases equally crazy. If you live in Bradford, for instance, you are not allowed to have people round to your home, or visit people outside the area at their homes, but seemingly you are allowed to go to the pub outside the affected area and socialise freely within distancing rules. You can also go the pub within your area provided you don’t interact with those outside your bubble.

In Lancashire you are not allowed to visit people in their gardens (and police helicopter patrols are out spotting illegal barbecues and paddling pool parties so the local plod can be directed to your house to impose an instant fine of £100.

Also you may not socialise with people you do not live with in other indoor public venues – such as pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, places of worship, community centres, leisure and entertainment venues, or visitor attractions. You may attend these venues with people you live with (or are in a support bubble with), but should avoid interaction with individuals or groups from other households.

If you run such a business or organise events on their premises, you should take steps to ensure people do not interact with people they do not live with, in line with COVID-19 secure guidance

To say none of this makes any sense is understatement, in reality it is barking mad.

The elected government have without doubt been let down by their officials and advisers, and the policies constructed have been based on the sectional interests of the civil service and academic community , but the buck stops at the top: the whole craptangle was easily foreseeable (and was forseen in writing by many of us who post content in online forums,) and ultimately responsibility rest on Boris and the Cabinet.

While it’s unarguable that the government’s handling of the faux -crisis has been hopeless I think we should stop piling all the blame on Boris and his Conservative cohorts. In the modern world any government is only as good as the advice it is given by civil serice and academic advisers. And as most of us are now aware both these sources of advice have proved to be CHIMPS (Completely Hopeless In Most Practical Situations.)

This is true of the majority of governments in the developed world, not just ours.

The lockdown, which has proved so catastrophic socially and economically, was advised on the basis of evidence from mathematical models of the pandemic, computer models programmed by incompetent amateurs.

Mandatory mask wearing is, according to many independent scientific studies, of dubious effectiveness and ignores the known facts that a) if you don’t have COVID 19 you can’t infect anybody else and b) there is close to zero chance of being infected while we are outdoors.

The inventor of the PCR test which governments have used to test for the virus, before he died (not from Coronavirus) earlier this year revealed it was not designed to test for specific pathogens and is thus useless. This explains why testing has produced so many false results.

The risible failure of track and trace systems which relied on a) everybody having a smatphone and b) all those smartphone owners downloading an app needs no further explanation.But none of these failings were originally the brainchild of politicians, though the politicians showed themselves to be gullible fools for listening to and acting on such obviously flawed advice, it is the people who gave that advice whose careers should be on the line first.

Far left bias has created a “chilling effect” in British academia which is forcing conservative and pro-Brexit academics to self-censor on campus, a report has found.

A report from the Policy Exchange think tank found that many conservatives in higher education feel there is a “hostile climate” for their political beliefs in their departments. A survey of educators found that 44 per cent of ‘fairly right’ and 63 per cent of ‘very right’ academics felt that the political climate has impacted what they teach or research.

This is compared to just 8 per cent of those who consider themselves ‘fairly left’ and 16 per cent for those claiming to be ‘very left’.

In partnership with YouGov, the report sampled 820 academics, of whom 484 are currently working in the university system and 336 are retired educators.

The report also found that the chilling effect extended to students, with just 39 per cent of pro-Brexit students feeling comfortable to share their political opinions on campus, compared to 89 per cent of Remain-supporting students.

Trevor Phillips, the former chairman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, told The Times that he found the report’s findings “deeply disturbing”.

“No one fought for diversity and inclusion in order to create universities staffed by a faculty who may look representative, but are to all intents and purposes, intellectually identical robots,” Philips said.

The government’s universities minister, Michelle Donelan, added: “It is deeply concerning the extent to which students and academics with mainstream views are being silenced and discriminated against in our universities.” … Continue reading >>>

Britain’s first professor of “Black Studies”, (yes you can get a Mickey Mouse degree from Toytown University in Black Studies,) who is aquiring quite a reputation for uttering ‘hate speech’ against Britain and white people in general, has now opined the British Empire did “far more harm” than Hitler’s Germany, and branded “whiteness” a “psychosis”. He gets away with it of course, though you and I would be hung, drawn and quartered if we happened to mention that some black people aren’t very nice.

Kehinde Andrews, of Birmingham City University’s School of Social Sciences, (that’s The University formerly kown as Birmingham polytechnic,) made the comments during a debate on Labour leadership on contender Lisa Nandy’s proposal to restyle Britain’s national honours, which bestow people with post-nominals such as MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) and OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire).

p>“In the 21st century 60 per cent of British people believe the Empire was a force for good,” Andrews scoffed during his appearance on the show, hosted by Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

“This is like saying because the Nazis built motorways we should celebrate them.”

Morgan, always a combatative interviewer when confronted by dickheads took him to task, demanding to know whether he was genuinely equating the British Empire with the Third Reich. Andrews, obviously aware that in Britain’s higher education system the colour of his skin will protect his job no matter what idiotic, racist claptrap he spounts, doubled down: “You’re right. There is no comparison. The British Empire did far more harm to the world for a far more sustained period of time.”

The cupid stunt and so called academic also disparaged of “whiteness”, deflecting accusations of racism by claiming that “Whiteness is not just for white people, there are also Asian people, black people who purport the psychosis of whiteness.”

Or to put it another way: “Yous am gotta act like de nigga aalz de time man, if yous wants to be black.” He did not say that of course, but it sums up his attitude, British people are evil and so are immigrants who try to integrate and make a new life for themselves here instead of trying to provoke inter racial conflict are just as evil. Fortunately this paskunyak and his ilk are a minority among immigrants.

In the face of a public backlash for his comments, Andrews took to social media to defend by his position, obviously being to stupid to stop digging.

“Yes, Whiteness is a psychosis,” he potificated/a>< in the self righteous manner of an irredeemable psychotic, continuing,“Much respect to [Professor Carol Anderson] for the excellent White Rage. First stop on my reading our for the #PsychosisOfWhiteness book.”

Elsewhere, he added: ‘The British Empire lasted far longer, did more damage and in many ways paved the way the Nazi’s [sic] and their genocidal ideology.
“We do no favours to the victims of the Holocaust by pretending otherwise. If we forget the past we are likely to repeat it .”

On February 7th Andrews went even further, sharing a tweet from Timothy Kaldas of the Washington D.C.-based Tahrir Institute suggesting that “What [Piers Morgan] can’t forgive Hitler for isn’t the crime itself, crime against man…it’s the crime against the white man, humiliation of the white man & fact he applied to Europe colonialist procedures which until then were reserved for Algeria’s Arabs, India’s coolies & Africa’s blacks”.

The saddest thing about the whole affair is that a festering gobshite like Andrews can draw a big fat salary funded by taxpayers for sputing this verbal diorrhea, and that in some quarters (the Jew – hating Labour party for example, he is highly respected.

Birth race and gender can be thrown out the window as far as the UK Universities and Colleges Union is concerned. The fact that you can just declare yourself black, disabled or female is not sitting well with many of its members.

In the report “UCU Position on Trans Inclusion”, the union basically suggests birth certificates will soon become a relic, should the world follow their lead. “The UCU has a long history of enabling members to self-identify, whether that is being black, disabled, LGBT or women.”

UCU outlined in the paper that a “social, rather than a medical, model of gender recognition” should be installed in the modern society, arguing that will “help challenge repressive gender stereotypes in the workplace

Swedish professor branded a bigot for saying men and women are ‘biologically different

The first story of the week from The Daily Stirrer’s Politically Correct Insanities desk concerns Germund Hesslow, a university professor in Sweden (Where else? OK, could be California, but this is European insanity.) Hesslow, who works in neurophysiology at Lund University, has offended the wankerati by suggesting during one of his lectures there are biological differences between men and women. (Shock! Horror!)

During a lecture on ‘Heritage and Environment’ at the respected academic institution, Hesslow make the mistake of citing empirical research which supports an idea that is deeply offensive to the chicks with dicks, snip and tuck and strappadiktomy brigade, that there are actually differences between men and women which are “biologically founded” and therefore genders cannot be regarded as “social constructs alone”.

A student complained that Hesslow’s comments were at odds with the Swedish “value base” — a concept which requires all schools in Sweden to adhere to a common ethical policy, which includes upholding values like egalitarianism, individual freedom, equality of the sexes and the lunatic notion that whether you are a man or a woman depends of ‘feelings’ rather that whether you have a willie or a minge.

In an interview with an internet radio station, Hesslow said some students, “for ideological reasons,” are offended by certain scientific facts about the very well understood biological differences between men and women. He said that the comments which prompted the complaint were not an integral part of his course material, but were answers to students’ questions during the course of the lecture. Sounds like some of the self righteous little shits set out to trap him.

“If you answer such a question you are under severe time pressure, you have to be extremely brief — and I used wording which I think was completely innocuous, and that apparently the student didn’t,” Hesslow said.

Hesslow was reprimanded by the chairman of the overseeing board for medical education, after a female student complained that the professor had expressed his “personal anti-feminist agenda,” Academic Rights Watch reported.

Now this blog has long believed universirt professors are the dimmest creatures on the planet, and this kind of conforms it. anyone with any sense would have kicked the stupid bitch off the course. Obviously she is totally unsuited to a career in healthcare if she thinks stating well documented facts is anti feminists. It’s well know of course that feminists have a very tenuous grip on reality but indulging their fantasies is not going to help them.

The university has asked Hesslow to “distance” himself from two specific comments; that gay women have a “male sexual orientation” and that whether transsexuality is a sexual orientation is “a matter of definition”. The professor refused to back away from the comments, saying that he had “done enough” already to “explain and defend” his choice of words. GO PROF.

When someone waves his academic qualifications at me and expects me to give a damn, it pisses me off. Since the blog started it has worked on the principle that everybody is entitled to their opinion and everybody’s opinion is worth equal respect.

Thus the kind of cupid stunt who tries to hide arrogant stupidity behind a qualification or a job title is not going get very far, neither is the type of dipstick whose idea of logic is to assume that because I don’t believe anything Barack Obama, David Cameron, Francois Hollande or any other western leader say, I must therefore believe everything Vladimir Putin says. I don’t believe anything he says either although it is amusing to observe how much better he is at playing politics than his western counterparts.

Again we get back to the failure of logic on the part of those who back up claims of intellectual superiority with bits of paper. The ineptitude of western leaders at lying and deception is not the proof of integrity, only of inadequacy. Not all academics are so closed minded and bigoted however, come are prepared to consider evidence and judge a case on its merits. Like these guys for example:

A large group prominent Dutch academics and intellectuals led by Professor Cees Hamelink has sent an open letter to Russian president Vladimir Putin apologising for the way Russia has been unfairly accused of warmongering. Although unreported in UK media it has attracted a lot of attention in Europe.

Part of the letter reads:

“Dear Mr. President Putin, Please accept our apologies on behalf of a great many people here in the Netherlands for our Government and our Media. The facts concerning MH17 are twisted to defame you and your country.”

It continues;

“You have saved us from a conflict in Syria that could have escalated into a World War” and “Russia is wrongly accused, without evidence or investigation, of delivering the weapons systems that allegedly brought down MH17. For this reason Western Governments claim they have a right to economically pressure Russia.

“It’s unfortunately true, that our media have lost all independence and are just mouthpieces for the Powers that Be. Because of this, Western people tend to have a warped view of reality and are unable to hold their politicians to account.”

Popular Gardening Show is Racist Because It Talks About ‘Non-Native’ Species, Says Academic

A popular BBC radio gardening show has been denounced as racist by an academic. Dr Ben Pitcher, a senior lecturer in sociology at the University of Usedtobeapoly, Westminster, said that discussions on non-native species and soil purity promote racial stereotypes, with white listeners using the show as a covert way to vent discriminatory opinions.

BBC Radio 4’s “Gardeners’ Question Time” is generally viewed as a gentle show that has provided help and advice to gardeners across Britain every week since 1947.

Dr Pitcher says, however, that the panel show is “saturated” with racial language. Speaking on another Radio 4 show, Thinking Allowed, he said: “Gardeners’ Question Time is not the most controversial show on Radio 4, and yet it is layered with, saturated with, racial meanings.

“The context here is the rise of nationalism. The rise of racist and fascist parties across Europe. Nationalism is about shoring up a fantasy of national integrity. My question is, what feeds nationalism? What makes nationalism powerful?”

Dr Pitcher added that the “crisis in white identity in multicultural Britain” means that people are unable to express what they really think of immigrants and ethnic minorities for fear of being labelled ‘racist’, so they express their opinions in other ways, including through gardening.

“Nationalism is historically about narratives of blood and soil,” he said.

“The distinction that gets made between native species and non-native species and this kind of policing of what belongs and what does not belong I think is symptomatic of a kind of desire to defend the fantasy of the national space.”

Roman and early medieval documents show wild boar were plentiful in France and in those days, it not being possible to order a pizza for delivery, pop down to Marks and Spencers for a microwaveable fricassse of ragout or something or simply add boiling water to a pot noodle, are these boneheades professors seriously asking us to believe the Gauls did not hunt wild boar and cook them over open fires?
