Coronavirus Psychotherapist: Lockdown Zealots Are Behaving Like Cult Members

The lockdown failed, but not without causting near – terminal damage to the economies of countries that followed WHO advice, so why are so many people demanding that we all stay under house arrest indefinitely?

Psychotherapist Dr Hugh Willbourn has joined the numbers of medical professionals and researchers pushing back against the fake science that has dominated government thinking for so long and led directly to lockdowns being ordered as the only way of avoiding atronomical (but totally fictitious,) numbers of COVID – 19 induced deaths. Dr. Willbourne says lockdown zealots are displaying all the classic signs of cult members by doubling down on their beliefs despite having been proven wrong and the “evidence” provided by their mathematical models completely debunked.

In an article which can be read online, Willbourn cites the work of respected social psychologist Leon Festinger, who analyzed the behaviour of a 1950s UFO cult the members of which believed that a flying saucer would rescue them from the coming nuclear apocalypse.

However, after the catastrophic earthquakes and floods they expected to hit the United States never arrived and their beliefs were totally disproved, “the cult members would become not less but more convinced of their beliefs.”

Festinger identified five conditions that needed to be met in order for the cult members to become more intense in their beliefs in spite of the cognitive dissonance involved.

1. There must be conviction

2. There must be commitment to this conviction

3. The conviction must be amenable to unequivocal disconfirmation

4. Such unequivocal disconfirmation must occur

5. Social support must be available subsequent to the disconfirmation.

“Festinger’s five conditions and the behaviour of the cult believers correspond closely to the situation with Brexit, Climate Change and Covid-19: a prophecy is made, believers invest themselves, their time, money and prestige in it, the prophecy fails and the believers become more fervent,” writes Willbourn..

We have certainly seen this with Brexit, the UK’s departure from the European Union despite a massive propaganda campaign from those who wished the UK to remain part of the Union and eventually become a financially and politically integrated province of a Federal European Superstate.

After the result of the refrerendum unexpectedly went against them these “Remainers” waged  another propaganda campaign, this time aimed at overturning the public vote by spreading fear and panic. They warned us the economy would collapse overnight (in fact it grew slightly faster than the EU economy at a time when the global economy was slowing down. They warned that unemployment would rise to unprecedented levels, in fact it fell. They took the government to court, won some Phyrric victories but could not change the national mood. They tried to tell us Britain, insignificant little Britain, was too small to survive outside the mighty European Union and were laughed at at it was pointed out that the UK has the fifth largest economy on the planet and a poulation of 60+ million. And still, even though we have formally left the EU and are in the process of deciding who gets to keep the pets, they rave about reversing the process.

We have seen it with climate change; we were told snow would be a thing of the past by the turn of the century but in recent years in Europe and North America many places have seen record snowfalls; we were told the polar ice caps would disappear, they’re still there; we were told that low lying nations would become uninhabitable because of rising sea levels – but those nations have experience population growth and no loss of land area. And still the Warmageddonist army  tried to turn the volume of their alarmist screeching up even though it is alread on eleven and has been for years.

The doctor notes how terrifying predictions of how many people COVID-19 would kill have fallen massively short and the models that produced these numbers have been thoroughly debunked. Despite warnings that coronavirus would kill 500,000 in the UK alone, the disease has only claimed 318,000 worldwide. And the lockdown fascists try to claim that the UK lockdown succeeded in reducing the number of deaths from 500,000 to 40,000, thus proving only that they are incapable of separating fact from fantasy.

Willbourn then goes on to put the scale of the COVID – 19 threat  this figure into perspective by reminding us the number of people who have died of, or with, Covid-19 in about four and half months is the same as the number who die in five days from cardiovascular disease.”

It is also worth remembering that the numbers of “COVID – related deaths” is less than the numbers who have died of tuberculosis ad seasonal ‘flu in the corresponding period.

In spite of all this and the incontrovertible evidence “experts” are still trying to ramp up the fear and panic, warning of mass death if lockdown is lifted too early and a second wave of infections takes place. The discredited Prof. Neil Ferguson, now exposed as a cunt – struck, communist conman whose mathematical model of the virus which led him to predict the fabled 500,000 deaths was discovered to have been full of errors and false assumptions and based on amateurish coding written by people who had never been computing professionals.

In reality, professionally conducted research has suggested the lockdowns had a minimal impact on infection numbers, and Sweden’s per capita death toll is lower than the UK’s and numerous other countries despite the Scandinavian country having imposed no hard lockdown and been widely crticized by fear and panic merchants for having not done so.

“Don’t expect an apology from our Government, or any other Government, any time soon,” Willbourn concluded. “The Festinger effect is far, far more prevalent than a clear-sighted view of reality and the tragedy is all the greater.”

“Is this starting to sound familiar?” asks journalist Toby Young. “As Willbourn points out, the sequence that Festinger wrote about more than 50 years ago is eerily reminiscent of what’s happening today: an apocalyptic prophecy was delivered from on high (“the science”), those who believed it radically altered their behaviour, the prophecy turned out not to be true, but instead of abandoning their doom-mongering the believers have become even more fervent, attacking anyone who points out the gap between fantasy and reality as dangerous heretics (“fake news”, “misinformation”, “conspiracy theories”, etc).”

“The difference, of course, is that Festinger’s UFO cult had a few dozen members, whereas the Covid cult seems to have infected half the world. If Festinger’s right, the bad news is we won’t be able to persuade people to stop social distancing if we prove that the danger posed by COVID-19 has been dramatically overstated. On the contrary, people’s opposition to returning to normal will intensify rather than diminish as the evidence mounts they were wrong.”

I have written many times in the past of the Church Of Scienceology Cult, a far more numerous quasi religion than the followers of L Ron Hubbard but no less loony. It is not yet clear whether the COVID – 19 cult is a breakway movement or a particularly fanatical sub – cult, like the climate change loonies who become more fanatical in their conviction that the world is about to be engulfed by an inferno of burning Carbon Dioxide! Yest for all their zealous devotion to The Science, actual, factual science is not a strength of such people.

Sweden: Authorities cancel traditional Christmas concerts, promote Islamic events

Sweden’s, and perhaps the world’s largest outdoor Christmas concert “Oh Holy Night”, which traditionally airs on Swedish national TV on Christmas Eve each year, has been cancelled, SVT news reports.

This is most likely yet another example of the Swedish governmenmt’s policy of suppressing ancient European traditions in order not to offend migrants who don’t hold Christian beliefs (a.k.a. Muslim extremists who hate everything Christian and European, who steal, rape and murder in the knowledge that even if the police bother to investigate their crimes – asking immigrant to obey Swedish law is racist according to left wing politicians in Sweden – can rely on the courts acting with extreme leniency in response to even the most serious of crimes.

Earlier incidents of this state sponsored de-Swedenication of Sweden include: replacing the image of Santa Lucia (December 21st), who according to the ancient Swedish Pagan Yule tradition always has been a long haired, blonde, beautiful woman, with a black boy.

On Midsummer’s Day (Sweden’s celebration of the sun at its height, the most culturally significant traditional holiday in the Swedish calendar) TV4 decided to let a woman in a hijab teach the Swedes how to cook kebab properly in preparation for Ramadan, the holy month of the Islamic calendar. It was a political gesture of course, cooking a kebab is not difficult. Ramadan is also celebrated with state funded public events in all Swedish cities with large migrant communities as well as on TV. In spite of protests from Christian and secular Swedes, authorities are allowing the Islamic call to prayer to be played through loudspeakers (at 110 dB), while at the same time banning bell rining in Christian churches (presumably bells are an abomination to Allah.)

Sadly, this is not confined to Sweden. Similar things are occurring throughout the liberal democracies of Western Europe, and will continue to occur as long as the ruling elites pursue immigrant friendly policies aimed at replacing the educated, well informed working classes of Europe with ignorant, illiterate (and therefore not capable of dissent) third world peasants.

In order to save ourselves we need to stand up for national cultures and traditions, and to stop accepting government’s efforts to force us to accept Islamic values and morals, ignore pro – Islamic laws such as the recent judgement in the European Court which makes ALL criticism of Islam subject to charges of blasphemy (meanwhile Muslims can say what they like about Christianity, Atheism, Paganism, humanism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism,) In counties all over the European continent, along with the United States, Canada, Australia and South East Asia resistance to the ruling elite’s efforts to inject Islam into our way of life is growing. In Mellerud, Åsen’s school decided to boycott the Lucia celebrations altogether, at both primary and middle school. A parent at the school, Ingrid Stewart, believes the ban has to do with religion and the hated of left wing staff towards Christianity and Swedish culture.

“I suspect it. Everyone does not feel comfortable with Lucia celebrations according to the school. But last week, the school celebrated Muhammad’s journey to heaven without even informing us.”, she says.

Some now say that the cancelled Lucia celebration is a prelude to cancel Christmas and force Swedes to adapt to Islam. Recently, to prevent terror attacks, barriers have also been set up at Christmas Markets in Malmö.Organi. Fortunately all this is strengthening the Sweden Democrats, the nationalist political party.

Government Fails Jewish School Over Lack of ‘Correct’ LGBT Teaching

A Jewish girls’ school in London has been failed for a third time by Education Department inspectors who claim it fell short of requirements set out in the Equalities Act to teach LGBT principles in general and homosexuality/gender reassignment issues in particular. The equalities act, you may remember is a pernicious piece of legislation pushed through by former Labour deputy leader and lobbyist on behalf of the Paedophile Information Exchange which at the time of Harman’s involvement was demanding as part of its “equal rites for paedophiles” position that the age at which it is legal to have sex with youg people be lowered to 4 (I’ll spell that so there is no room for confusion F-O-U-R) in the dying days of the last Labour government.

The Vizhnitz girls’ school caters to 212 students and has been visited by the UK’s Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted) to determine if it taught LGBT issues such as “sexual orientation.” Because it had not, it was gauged to have declined giving its pupils who are aged up to eight years old, a “full understanding of fundamental British values” and therefore the school is in breach of equality laws, according to the Jewish Press; (Jew hating, terrorist – loving, Corbyn supporting, racist, neo-Nazi, millennial snowflakes might want to fuck the fucking fuck off here, because while I’m, not trying to ‘trigger’ anyone I know such Jew – hating people can’t cope with views sympathetic to the Jewish community.) Schools that do not come up to Ofsted’s requirements must improve or face closure.

After spending an hour searching the web I could find no instance of a Muslim failth school being censured for failing to tech Gay BLT propaganda or tell publis they should multilate their reproductive organs in the name of political correctness. So now we find the education system of racist as well as biased towards the gay community.

The inspectors conceded that “the school’s culture is, however, clearly focused on teaching pupils to respect everybody, regardless of beliefs and lifestyle.” Right, so what’s the fucking problem. Why do Gay BLTs get special treatment when we are allowed to ridicule Christians, computer gamers, Train spotters, stamp collectors and people with ginger hair?

David Kurten MEP, the UKIP Education spokesman, said the state should not be forcing ideologies on children at the very youngest ages.

“Primary school children are far too young to be exposed to ideas such as the details of non-reproductive sexual acts and gender fluidity. Children deserve a childhood and the guise of ‘inclusion’ and ‘anti-bullying’ is being used to expose them to damaging ideas far too early, and to undermine and close down faith schools in favour of secularism.

“Yet secularism is not a neutral blank canvas of a worldview. Humanist and secularist groups have actively campaigned against faith schools for over a century. 99% of faith schools are Christian schools, and have done an excellent job of education children and young people in the UK since Augustine’s time in the 6th Century.

“Ofsted is now part of the red blob which is pushing cultural Marxism.”

Six other religious schools in the UK have also failed the same inspections in recent weeks.

Islam To Be Official Religion In Anglican, Catholic, Jewish Schoools?

It all gets more insane with every week that passes.

New regulations that were intended to encourage the inculcation of “British Values” in schools are now being usurped to force a Christian school to accept Islamification or face possible closure. The reason is that they have not invited an Imam to address the The Christian Institute school assembly, reports a charity helping to defend them from the Department for Education.

The small independent school which has not been named is in the home counties. Governors have been warned that te schools rating under the Independent Schools Standards framework would be changed from “Good”, to merely “Adequate” because of its failure to meet the new requirements on promoting diversity.

Before the left – wing idiot fringe start screeching that religion should be banned from schools, ‘fraid it would do no good you politically correct fools. The regulations could be used to force secular schools to allow Islamic preachers to address pupils.

The new rules, which were introduced after the Islamist ‘Trojan Horse’ scandal to prevent radicalisation of children in Britain’s schools appears to have suffered from the law of unintended consequences (as any document drafted by public service workers tends to do) as they are now being used to interfere with traditional British schools instead.

The Department for Education (DfE) says promoting “acceptance and engagement” and “tolerance and respect of all faiths and cultures” in schools now means going a lot further than school trips to Mosques and Temples, which has been the case in the past. The new rules mean the state is forcing faith schools, such as Anglican, Roman Catholic and Jewish schools to invite faith leaders such as Muslim Imams who are oppsed to the teachings of the schools sponsoring faith to lead lessons.

Where will it end. Will feminist studies classes have to hear lectures on the advantages for women of polygamous partnerships? Will home economics classes be treated to lectures on how to prepare and serve human organs? Will children be encouraged to have a go at slaughtering small, furry animals halal style?

Not long ago because of a shortage of stupid criminals to whom we could award our Stupid Criminal Of The Week title, Boggart Blog inaugurated our Stupid Lefties of the week award to celebrate the politically correct idiocies of those emotional cripples who think shitting on DHWFs (Decent Hard Working Folks) to show how much said emotional cripples care about losers, weirdos, window lickers, scroungers, wankers, dickheads and arseholes is somehow the way to build a ‘fair’ society.

The latest Stupid Lefties Of The Week award goes to The Equality and Human Rights Commission for once again demanding fairness for minorities without thinking it through.

A document published for employers by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) suggests new guidelines for how members of minorities should be treated in the workplace.

Among the guidelines is a statement that “employees may assert the right to discuss their personal beliefs in the workplace and employers should not prevent such conversations”. Bosses should “consider seriously” adapting the relevant work duties to suit their employees beliefs.

It insists that such beliefs should be “more than an opinion or a viewpoint”, should be genuinely and sincerely held and worthy of respect in a democratic society. This, it is stated, would uphold the right of vegetarians and vegans to harangue colleagues about the evils of meat eating and presumably for Muslims and Jews to kill each other for reasons nobody can remember.

Among the examples suggested are that ecologists could ask to be excused from duties that increase CO2 emissions, such as flying to business meetings or getting a bus to work, and that Christians, Muslims, Hundus, Druids and Pagans should be allowed to take time off work to go on pilgrimages and attend sacred rituals.

It also suggests that members of religious groups should be able to practice the rituals on their faith in the workplace. This raises many questions. Would Jews be allowed to slaughter chickens according to kosher law in the coffee room, would Muslims be allowed to march round the boss’s desk whacking themselves on the head with their laptops and would Druids be allowed to sacrifice virgins on the table in the conference room.

And, as we are near to Beltane would pagans be able to smash up the office furniture, make a bonfire in the middle of the floor, dance round it naked and have a sex orgy during working hours?

People really must lean to think about consequences.

Scientists Blame Ancient Goddess For Volcanic Dust

We have often taken scientists to task here at Boggart Blog for the way they are trying to put their irrational faith in reason, logic and order into the place a religion. Our barbed-tongue-in-cheek comments have provoked some furious responses along the lines of:

“How dare you question and ridicule science and scientists. We are tireless seekers after truth and can in no way be compared to the superstitious and gullible people who cling to religious faith. You ignorant Boggart Bloggers obviously do not understand science or you would realise our science is immortal, invisible, ineffable and infallible.”

Right so. But in that case what are we to make of a story I found today that reports scientists suspect there is a link between the volcanic eruption in Iceland with all its attendant disruption and climate change (Scientists call for research on climate link to geological hazards ). One of the theories put forward is that the huge amounts of volcanic ash being belched out and projectile vomited into the upper atmosphere are nature’s way of stopping heat reaching the earth’s surface and causing more global warming.

This is on a par with the theory floated when the Large Hadron Collider kept breaking down that the future was reaching back into the present and sabotaging it which became known as the ‘some poor deluded fool has been taking Dr. Who a tad too literally’ theory.

Just think though, after years of telling us Gaia theory was just the incoherent babbling of spaced out hippies are these scientists really trying to jump on a bandwagon that is obviously gathering momentum the way they did when after sneering at climate change warnings for twenty years they suddenly jumped on the band wagon as soon as they thought there were research grants, awards, book deals, fame and glory to be had.

When you look at it like that climate scientists make used car salesmen look like paragons of moral rectitude.

Either that or these people are further out of touch with reality than Scientologists.

For the sake of balance we must report that Islamic Teologists in Iran have blamed scantily clad women for the recent spate of seismic activity and weather related catastrophes. So, the earth goddess Gaia and Lady Gaga, its six of one and half a dozen of the other.

Climate Change Evangelists: Own A Fragment Of The True Hockey Stick.

Alert readers may have noticed we at Boggart Blog take delight in excoriating a certain kind of scientist. It is not all scientists we ridicule, just those who insist on behaving as if science, like some oppressive religion is beyond question and doubt. If people insist on claiming science is sacrosanct and to question it is heresy they must accept being treated as religious funny mentalists.

NB Excoriate is Boggart Blog’s word of the month. We have previously not drawn your attention to our words of the month, not even Solipsism last December although it was a cracker, but recently a magazine that supports the agenda of the Politically Correct Thought Police published a “good writing guide” in which, apart from denouncing commas, semi colons and exclamation marks as abominations it excoriated writers who use biggish words in properly constructed sentences and pay attention to the meaning of what they write. Such things are reactionary and anti – progressive they said.

At our next editorial meeting we decided to resist the march of the Politically Correct Thought Police and the “progressive humanists” who support them, (these control freaks always describe themselves as progressive though stripping people of the power to think for themselves can hardly be described as progress.) We particularly want to irritate people like the boy scientist who recently told us “the scientific way of knowing is the only way of knowing.” One might well respond to that by saying “The scientific way of being a twat is the only way of being a twat.”

The new religion of omnipotent, omniscient and ineffable (especially by inarticulate scientists) science is gaining many adherents particularly among the evil nazi control freaks politicians who guide the destiny of nations. These people are getting closer and closer to declaring any questioning of or lack of belief in Anthropogenic Global Warming, the sanctum sanctorum of modern science, a grand felony and upgrading the minor misdemeanour of thinking for oneself a capital offence.

The religion of science and particularly the cult of Climate Change Science looks set to follow the medieval Catholic Church in enforcing belief so ruthlessly people will be competing to show their devotion lest they be denounced as doubters or less than fully committed to the cause.

Such an atmosphere creates entrepreneurial opportunities for religiously self interested businesses.

After extortion, kidnapping for ransom, rapine and plunder and cracking people over the head with one of those spiked iron balls and stealing their valuables the biggest industry in the medieval warm period era of religious oppression was selling holy relics.

All over Europe the trade in genuine Holy Relics flourished to such an extent that documentary evidence shows Jesus had fourteen foreskins (three of which still exist) and Saint Augustine had over a hundred fingers.

The greatest treasure of all however was a fragment of the true cross. If all the fragments of the true cross in all the churches in Christendom were assembled in one place it would prove The Son Of God was crucified on a small forest.

What has this to do with excoriating the Hierophants The Cult Of Climate Change Science? you might well ask. Anyone who knows history will know that after the oppression of free thought the church fragmented into a thousand warring cults because there was no tangible and unifying symbol of faith. The cross had its origins in Hinduism, the foreskins (not to be confused with the neo –nazi punk band The Four Skins) were mostly lost but could have been anybody’s, the transubstantiation of communion bread and wine in the communicant’s mouth was an abstract idea, it tasted like bread and wine and everyone knew the Christmas Lights were pagan.

Sadly the True Hockey Stick was stolen by fanatical freethinkers in an operation known as Climategate and smashed into fragments by followers of a cult dedicated to letting nature take its course. Without a sacred symbol on which to focus their belief the AGW cult that had claimed to be the only hope of humankind fell into disarray.

Sex Education Kerfuffle

There’s a bit of a kerfuffle going on in among the faction of the “Progressive Left” that thinks the Politically Correct Thought Police are just not authoritarian enough. The “Hello, we’re liberals, you must never question our authority” brigade are upset because the Education Secretary Ed “The Ball” Balls wants to relax rules on sex education in schools to allow religious schools to teach total abstinence from sex outside marriage.

The Thought Police are absolutely outraged that the change will allow Catholic Schools to inculcate the message that sex is wrong. Balls on the other hand is responding to pressure from Muslim groups who also think sex outside marriage is wrong. The Politically Correct Thought Police have not yet worked out that in their zeal to prevent Catholic Schools oppressing pupils they are in fact insisting that the government oppresses Muslims by forbidding them to teach their faith in Muslim schools to Muslin children. It will be wonderful to see the hypocritical somersaults that will be performed when the PCTP catch on to this.

For the moment however the “More Authoritarian Than The Thought Police” Police are claiming the Department’s move will undermine efforts to reduce numbers of unwanted teenage pregnancies.

Unusually, I am with the Minister on this one. Poor Ed is in a no win situation. If you want pupils to accept that sex in or out of marriage is a good, normal, healthy thing then schools should hire a fundie preacher to teach that anyone who succumbs to temptation will be cast down to burn in Eternal Fire! If you tell teenagers not to have sex because it is evil they will only go out and have lots of sex with lots of people. Now people who do not have sex with anybody cannot make babies (unless they work in an IVF clinic) so teaching abstinence cannot undermine efforts to reduce pregnancies.

On the other hand if schools in official sex education lessons teach teenagers that sex is only OK if you use condoms the teenagers will continue to shun condoms when having sex because condoms are uncool. The result is the same.

Teenagers like having sex. Teenagers are irresponsible. The world consequences never features in their vocabulary until they are face with the consequences of what they have done. The only reason teenagers abstain from having sex is because they are terminally uncool and can’t get anybody to have sex with them.
As far as sex education in schools goes, teaching about condoms does not prevent pregnancies, teaching abstinence does not prevent pregnancies so what can be done?

Our solution is to organise school discos. Hire a really cool DJ to attract the cool dudes, promise the nerds and geeks they will get laid to make sure they are there. Then hire a busload of beautiful, sophisticated high class hookers and tell them to go to work on the nerds and geeks. This way you send out the message that sex is for nerds and geeks and everybody who wants to be cool will stop doing it.

Problems are so easy to solve when you just think things through properly.
