Facebook Introduces Anti-sex Censorship In Secret

Facebook is to purge its platform of all sex-related content according to the announcement of a new policy banning everything from nude pictures to “sexualized slang,” up to and including “vague suggestive statements.” The social media giant has not bothered informing its users of the new move.

The new “sexual solicitation” rules were adopted by Facebook’s board of directors in October this year, according to PCMag. Once fully implemented they will forbid everything from pornography to “implicit sexual solicitation.” The latter term is purposefully vague, encompassing “vague suggestive statements, such as ‘looking for a good time tonight,’” discussion of “sexual partner preference,” content (including hand-drawn art) that depicts “suggestively posed persons,” and even the use of “sexualized slang.”

Facebook long ago banned pornographic content, and has been joined by many other platforms – even Tumblr is jumping on that bandwagon after a child porn scandal saw the site’s app banned from the Apple store,  but this new measure comes with typically Zuckerbergesque justification: “[P]eople use Facebook to discuss and draw attention to sexual violence and exploitation. We recognize the importance of Facebook and want to allow for this discussion. We draw the line, however, when content facilitates, encourages or coordinates sexual encounters between adults.”

You read that correctly – Facebook is OK with discussion of sexual violence, but doesn’t want to provide a platform for consenting adults to meet in real life, or even indulge in a bit of mild flirting. Well a #MeToo supporting dickless creep like Zuckerberg wouldn’t want to encorage the idea that sex can fun and fulfilling or anything other than  brutal, exploitative and life destroying.

A Facebook spokesperson claims it was Facebook’s human content reviewers (is he really asking us to believe Facebook employs real humans) who requested the new policy, claiming “the sexual exploitation policy did not adequately distinguish between exploitation (e.g. ‘My ex was a slut. Look at the photos she sent me.’) and solicitation (e.g. ‘Looking for swingers. Friday at 8 PM, [name of bar]. Wear pink.’) and solicitation (Hello big boy, I’ll give you a good time for $50).” The company has expanded its human workforce following user complaints that algorithms were flagging legitimate content for takedown, including classic works of art featuring exposed nipples and bottoms, and the American Declaration of Independence.

More disturbing than the rules themselves is Facebook’s failure to inform users that a large portion of their content – nearly all Facebook users have deployed a sexual innuendo at some point in their lives – is now likely to get them banned from the site. Shortly after the was adopted, Facebook purged hundreds of pages without warning and seemingly without rhyme or reason (one person’s innocent comments is another’s double – entendre), dismissing the deleted accounts as “spam” without any sort of appeal process for the affected users, some of whom had thousands of followers. The announcement of this policy, two months after its adoption, raises the disturbing possibility that rules like this could be used as justification for further purges (of political content for example.)

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) blames the controversial SESTA/FOSTA legislation passed in March for Facebook’s hard puritanical shift. Sex workers and LGBT activists took to Twitter to protest the new rules, which they say will disproportionately affect already-marginalized communities.

Facebook’s Privacy Priacy
Once again Facebook are in trouble over their contempt for users privacy. It is quite astounding that this upstart corporation that is quite open about its ambition to control the internet does not seem to understand there are lines that cannot be crossed when it comes to broadcasting or “sharing” details of users private lives.

Internet Privacy: could Your Online Porn Viewing Details Go Viral

Even if you are using privacy tools is your internet browsing safe. How secret are your financial transactions, are the off colour jokes you share with friends really private, and what about the kind of sites you would never tell your mother you visit? While you are watching porn, who is watching you?

Interesting story featured in The Indy today, I did a bit more digging to the source. Having often crossed swords with science worshippers who believe all technology is handed down to us on tablets of printed circuit board stuff by The Gods Of Science, and is therefore good and should not be doubted, I was gratified to see that my repeated warnings that there is absolutely no privacy on the internet, and far from being a benign tool invented by a geek scientist to liberate information, it is in fact an evil surveillance tool developed by government security agencies in collaboration with corporate control freaks for the purpose of controlling us.

from Brett Thomas’ blog

The premise of this post is simple: If you are watching/viewing porn online in 2015, even in Incognito mode, you should expect that at some point your porn viewing history will be publicly released and attached to your name.
How is this possible?

This is an uncomfortable topic to talk/write about, which perhaps contributes to how we’ve arrived at the current state. So, to understand the threat, start with some technical considerations:

Browser footprints: Web browsers leave an essentially unique footprint every time you visit a web page, even in Incognito mode (and even without supercookies). This is well established; many web tools such as Panopticlick will confirm that you give a website lots of information about your computer every time you visit.

Global identifiers: Linking your browser footprint on one website to your footprint on another website – or to a previous footprint on the same website – is straightforward. You should think of your browser footprint as a persistent global identifier, and this is particularly true if you don’t take any measures to hide your IP address (eg. a VPN). The EFF has an excellent technical overview of how this works.

User tracking: Tracking web users is super valuable, so almost every traditional website that you visit saves enough data to link your user account to your browser fingerprint, either directly or via third parties. The Economist ran an overview of user tracking in September. (Though, interestingly, there is no mention of adult websites.)

Hacking is ubiquitous: We hear about data breaches that involve tangible harm – Target, Anthem, TurboTax – but not the (likely great majority) of cases when hackers don’t want additional exposure. Or, paraphrasing the FBI director: There are two types of companies…those that know they’ve been hacked…and those that don’t know they’ve been hacked.

How might this happen?

Judge Denies Attempt To Block Obama’s Transfer Of Internet Oversight To UN

October 2016: In a last ditch effort to block Obama’s plan to allow the US Commerce Department to hand over oversight of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to a multi-stakeholder community – which includes the technical community, businesses, civil society and foreign governments – 4 state attorneys went to a Texas federal court alleging that the transition, in the absence of congressional approval, amounts to an illegal forfeiture of U.S. government property. Confirming once more that under Obama’s Presidency the judiciary and legal system have been totally politicised, their case was thrown out on a technicality.

Vote Lib Porn remember La Ciccolina

The selection by Liberal Democrats of a director of porn films s their candidate for Gravesham in Kent shows they are at least living up to the “liberal” portion of their name. And we hear from local pollsters Anna Span is doing well for the Lib Dems and has the Conservatives, defending a majority of just over 500 on the back foot.

On top of that the candidate’s selection has triggered a boomette in house prices in the constituency as well as providing some light relief in an election campaign that has sorely lacked news to amuse. It also confirms the Lib Dems have not entirely abandoned their traditional role as the party of mavericks, oddballs, eccentrics, the raffia mafia and tree huggers we all loved but did not vote for.

Though leading Labour and Conservative figures were evasive when asked if they had any comments on Anna Span, professional virgin Anne Widdy said if Ms. Span was elected it would rob Parliament of its dignity and gravitas. She refused to comment further as she had to attend an expenses funded party on a colleagues duck island.

The public meanwhile responded warmly to Anna Span, older male voters who remember Italian porn star turned politician La Ciccolina (trans: the little fleshy one) who was elected to the Italian Parliament on a Tits Out For Social Justice” ticket as a candidate for the Open Crotch Pants Party.

Our mole in the Lib Dem campaign HQ informs us the part is so delighted with the response to Anna Span they are hoping prospective candidates Ben Dover and Phill McCavvity, Shiela Blige, Ivor Biggun and Gythia De Horne, evergreen star of the classic movie Gythia does The Grenadier Guards will be adopted by constituencies in the next few days.

Watch a video of La Ciccolina dressed in very scanty underwear making her maiden (!) speech to the Italian Parliament (at least that’s who I think they are)

Tiger Woods: Sorry, But Don’t Forget I’m The Victim Here.

So Tiger Woods has apologised, to whom we are not quite sure. His wife, his mother, the fans, his sponsors, The King Of Norway? Maybe all of them.

The stage managed setting and somewhat theatrical contrition at times made the rambling, fourteen minute apology sound more like an Oscar winners speech. Actually it might not be a bad idea if Oscar winners were required to apologise rather than thanking everybody they have ever met.

If Kate Winslet, Leonardo di Caprio, James Cameron et al had been required to apologise for their involvement in Titanic they all might have been more particular in their choice of subsequent work. If Sylvester Stallone had had to apologise for Rocky he might not have inflicted Rocky 2 to 6 on us. If Hugh Grant was made to apologise for everything he might fuck off.

Tiger Woods had not won an Oscar though he might have been a contender for one of those porn movie Oscars they have in America, The Rogers I think they’re called, or something like that. Sadly he forgot to post footage of his exploits on You Tube and so did not qualify.

What Tiger mainly did in his apology was cast himself as the victim. He whined about his childhood, his lack of self worth, the way people around him who should have kept him on the straight and narrow encouraged him to believe the rules did not apply to him. He was a victim of his childhood, his success and his celebrity in other words.

In all, despite “embracing his guilt and owning it” according to one shrink the apology was laden with self pity and sounded like a plea to his fans to allow him back into their hears and wallets. Despite all the affected humility and the pain he obviously feels at having “let down people who saw me as a role model,” Tiger came across as a man who has a very high opinion of himself for someone whose success and fame rests on his ability to hit little balls with sticks.

There is the possibility of course it was all just a sop to sponsors.

The problem is of course the celebrity culture. Tiger Woods is a sports star like David Beckham, Ashley Cole or Freddie Flintoff. Why should we require that they be paragons of virtue? What business is Tiger’s sex life, Beckham’s extravagance or Freddie’s liking for more than a few beers to do with the public? We ought to be glad we can enjoy their talents and not pander to the media’s need to exploit their flaws.

Nike Stands By Its Tiger As Porn Star Alleges Affair With Woods

The thunder of stampeding feet shows no sign of decreasing in volume as the stampede of sponsors running away from Tiger Woods continues. Latest blow for the Tiger Woods brand image came when a porn star who alleges she had an affair with the world’s No. 1 golfer and most prodigious shagger of 2009. Joslyn James, pictured here, the tenth woman in two weeks who claims she had intimate knowledge of the shaft Tigers of Tigers No1. Iron spoke of tender and sensitive lovemaking with Tiger. We should not place two much faith in this testimony to Tiger’s skills in the bedroom bunker as Joslyn had only ever screwed plumbers with ridiculous moustaches before.

The sponsors that have dumped Woods include soft drinks manufacturers, management consultancies and financial services firms. One sponsor determined to stand by Tiger is Nike, the company named after the Greek goddess of victory. Phil Knight, founder and CEO of Nike, the sports clothing company famed for paying kids in the third world 10 pence an hour to make it’s expensive sports shoes that people like Tiger Woods were paid fortunes to endorse said of the billionaire golfers career meltdown, “When Tiger’s career is over people will look back on these few weeks as a minor blip.”

What does he mean “when Tiger’s career is over?” Isn’t the word ‘when’ redundant?

To show how solid its support for Tiger is they should perhaps change their slogan from ‘Just do it’ to ‘Just do her.’
