Salvini Accuses Leftist Govt of Giving Away Italian Sovereignty to EU

Italian Prime Minister Guiseppe Conte, aonter European leader prepared to betray his country

Matteo Salvini leader of the hugely popular Populist League (Lega) party, which, despite having a democratic mandate, was excluded from the government of Italy by a stitch up enigineered by the Euronazi EU Commission in Brussels, has accused Giuseppe Conte the Italian prime minister apponted by the EU, of handing over Italian sovereignty to the European Union bureaucrats without parliamentary approval with changes to an EU bailout fund.

Changes the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), a fund that gives emergency loans to countries and banks, has been criticized by Salvini and his colleagues in League, who argue that the new system could force Italy to restructure its massive debt in a way that would have the subsequent negative effect of preventing the heavily indebted nation from leavthe Euro single currency, according to a report from Reuters. We should remember that it was the EU’s forcing Italy to join the single currency system that is responsible for most of Italy’s current economic woes.

On Friday (29 Nov,) Salvini said that the reform was a danger for Italian sovereignty and that, as was the case with the creation of the single currency system, the beneficiary would be Germany, which has banks in crisis, such as Deutschebank which recently laid off a large section of its workforce after losing billions of euros this year. The future of Deutschebank is still in doubt as the bank was forced by the EU to buy €€€billions of negative performing bonds from the EU’s basket case economies to fund previous bail outs.

Salvini, who along with his party becomes more popular with Italian voters as a result of every EU power grab, went as far as to address Italian President Sergio Mattarella directly, stating that if Prime Minister Conte signs the treaty to go ahead with the reform “it would sanction a sale of unbalanced national sovereignty.”

We expect the collapse of the Brussels appointed, pro Brussels government in Rome imminently.

Italian Political Crisis Threatens As Former Prime Minister Quits New Democrat / Five Star Coalition

If, after reading our report of how the EU and Italian establishment stitched up the hugely popular leader of League when he called for elections after the collapse of his ruling coalition, and instead, with the backing of the Brussels bureaucracy, installed an unelected coalition to govern and revrse moost of Salvini’s reforms, you had bet against appointed overnment coalition of two politically incompatible parties, you would now he confident of picking up your winnings sooner ratherr than later. coalition between the Five Star Movement and Italy’s Democratic Party would swiftly fall apart might have been on to something.

Tuesday morning after former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi officially quit the Democratic Party to start his own political group. Though Renzi has said he will back PM Giuseppe Conte, investors are clearly worried about the prospects for more political instability.

“I have decided to leave the PD and to build together with others a new house to do politics differently,” Renzi wrote on Facebook.

Former Italian leader Matteo Renzi plunged Italy into political chaos again?

Renzi, who was seen as a centrist reformer when he was elected in 2014, left office in 2016 amid a wave of dysfunction. But since his time in office, the party has shifted further to the left, with many left-recruits loyal to current party leader, Nicolas Zingaretti. Some have long suspected that Renzi might leave the Democrats to start his own more-centrist party.

According to reports in Italian media, about 30 Democratic Party lawmakers might declare their loyalty to Renzi, but he has promised to continue to support the Conte government…for now at least.

There may be more trouble in store for Italy’s Brussels puppet government however, as well as a likely split in the Democratic Party rumours are rife in Rome that a significant number of Movement Five Star assembly members are ready to defect to League, feeling that the leaders of the party have betrayed its Eurosceptic principles and sold out to the EU rather than adhering to the founding principle of reclaiming Italian sovereignty from the wannabe pan – European empire of unelected bureaucrats.

Italy PM Giuseppe Conte resigns, launches blistering attack on deputy Matteo Salvini

In another huge blow to the efforts of the Brussels bureaucracy to create an illusion of solidarity among remaining EU member states in the run up to Brexit, Italy’s Prime Minister Guiseppe Conte has resigned, citing the behaviour of his Deputy Matteo Salvini the man who was prevented from assuming the leadership of Italy after his party won the most recent election, by Brussels’ undemocratic refusal to accept a Eurosceptic politician as leader of any member state.

Since then the Brussels elite has constantly interfered in Italy’s political and economic life, in a bid to prevent Salvini, who as leader of League, the largest party in the Italian legislature from carrying out their populist agenda. Salvini, the de facto political leader of Italy as Conte had no party backing him and no electoral mandate has been seeking confrontation with the EU principally over immigration and economic policies.

This development is certain to end the League / Five Star governimg coalition, resulting in a general election in which the hugely popular League is likely to win an overall majority. If that is the outcome Brussels will be powerless to prevent Salvini becoming Prime Minister and his party assuming overall control. And that would certainly result in Italy Leaving the European Single Currency system (the Euro,) as a step towards quitting the EU entirely. READ MORE at Vanguard News

Italy Arrests Captain Of Migrant NGO Ship After Illegal Docking

Italian leader Matteo Salvini continued to se the standard for leadersd of Eurosceptic EU member states when he ordered the arrest of the captain, crew members and passengers of a ship that crashed the Italian border control agency blockade to land its cargo of illegal immigrants on the Iitalian island of Lampeduesa. The captain of the migrant transport ship Sea Watch 3 had docked at Europe’s most southern port on the Italian island was arrested on Saturday following a protracted standoff, according to the New York Times.

Sea Watch 3 captain Carola Rackete

The 40 migrants onboard disembarked after 16 days on the Sea Watch 3, operated by German NGO Sea-Watch and operating under the Dutch flag and were taken to a detention centre for illegal entrants to Italy.

Captain Carola Rackete, 31, docked just before 2 a.m. after ramming an Italian government border-control vessel which was trying to stop them entering the port. Rackete was arrested on charges of “resisting a war ship,” which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

A spokeswoman for the Sea Watch charity Giorgia Linardi said that the situation was still “unfolding,” and that the charges had yet to be formalized. She added that the migrants had been taken to a migration center on the island. The so – called charity is a politically motivated organisation whic specialises in helping illegal immigrants from third world nations entrer the European Union.

The Sea Watch, which rescued 53 people off the coast of Libya on June 12, had navigated toward Italy after rejecting an offer to dock in Tripoli, Libya, which humanitarian groups do not deem safe. Italy’s Interior Minister, Matteo Salvini, closed the country’s ports to rescue ships last year and has demanded that other European nations (in this case The Netherlands, where the ship is registered, take in the undocumented migrants. On Friday, five countries offered to take them. Salvini, who has referred to the GNO vessel as a “pirate ship,” told RAI state radio that he had “ordered the arrest of an outlaw” who had recklessly endangered the lives of Italian border patrol officers. He also ordered authorities to sequester the ship “which goes around the Mediterranean breaking laws.”

On Saturday morning, Salvini posted a video of the ship's arrival at Lampedusa on Twitter, writing "Outlaw commander arrested. Pirate ship confiscated. Maxi-fine to a foreign NGO. Migrants distributed to other European countries. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.”

No wonder the man is so hugely popular with Italian voters.

Europe’s Nationalists Unite Behind Salvini Ahead Of EU Elections

With the EU elections due in May this year expected to deliver another body blow to the dream of a Federal European superstate, Europe’s more conservative nationalist  parties have today announced an alliance that is aiming to become the strongest group in the European Parliament, with a view to forcing to radical reform on the EU bureaucracy in Brussels, which dictates policy on security, migration, family and the environment, according to Euro News.

“The news is that we are broadening the community, the family. We are working for a new European dream today. For many Europeans, the EU (European Union) is a nightmare,” Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini told reporters following a meeting of Europe’s nationalist party leaders in Milan. Salvini is spearheading the alliance, called “Towards a Europe of Common Sense,” which he says he hopes will “win and change Europe.”

Salvini was joined Monday by the far-right Alternative for Germany’s co-leader Joerg Meuthen, Olli Kotro of the euroskeptic populist party The Finns, and Anders Vistisen of the right-wing, populist Danish People’s Party. Those parties now come from other parliamentary groups, the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) and the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy (EFDD). –AP

The alliance hopes to form a majority bloc following the May 23-26 elections – “the most numerous, important, determined and forward-looking group,” according to Salvini.

“We are not aiming to lose or just participate. Our goal is to win and change the rules of Europe.

Europe’s right-wing populist parties are currently divided into three groups: The Europe of Nations and Freedom (ENF) group — which includes Italy’s the League, France’s National Rally, Austria’s Freedom Party and the Netherlands’ Party for Freedom — the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), which groups the Danish People’s Party and the Finns Party among others, and the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy (EFDD), which has the Alternative for Germany (AfD) and the UK’s Brexit Party . –Euro News

The group’s top priorities are a halt to all illegal immigration, restore political sovereignty to EU nations, protect “European culture,” and enforce stronger European border controls. They see the main threat to Europe as Islamic extremism.

“As interior minister for 10 months, the No. 1 risk in Italy and Europe is Islamic extremism, Islamic fanaticism, Islamic terrorism,” said Salvini. “There are extreme-right and extreme-left minorities in Italy and in Europe, (but) they fortunately are controlled and of limited numbers.”

Salvini rejected the notion that the groups in his alliance are filled with political extremists bent on totalitarian rule. The far – right extremists narrative is of course purely left wing scaremongering by people who describe any suggestion that immigration should be controlled as racist and fascistic.

“Today at this table there are no nostalgic extremists,” Salvini said, adding: “The only nostalgics are in power in Brussels. Today, we look ahead with a clear memory of what happened in the past, but the tired debate of right, left, fascist, communist, is not what makes us passionate.”

Political experts say the May 23-26 European Parliament vote could prove to be a tipping point in post-war European politics, if traditional political powerhouses lose support and extremist, populist parties gain more clout.

The vote, which involves 705 seats this year, is run as national ballots in each of the bloc’s states. National political parties with common ideology then unite in EU-wide groups, like the center-right EPP, the center-left S&D Socialists or the liberal, pro-business ALDE.

The new euroskeptic alliance, launched under the banner “Toward a Europe of common sense,” expands on the parliament’s four-year-old Europe of Nations and Freedom Group (ENF), which already includes France’s far-right National Rally, Austria’s Freedom Party and the Netherland’s Party for Freedom. –AP

The alliance, which is holding a rally on May 18 in Milan’s central Piazza Duomo, says their invitation is open to all like-minded parties who wish to join the faction. If they win a majority in the EU elections, the group would cancel for good the process of inviting Turkey to become a member of the European Union – a process which has been stalled for years. Commenting on this, Salvini said Turkey is nothing to do with Europe, apart from a small enclave around Istanbul, Turkey is on the Asian continental land mass and is different religiously and culturally from anywhere in Europe.
