UK Parliament Seizes Internal Facebook Documents

Zuckerberg mig shot
Zuckerberg – his prison mug shot?

After Mark Zuckerberg has twice failed to respond to a summons to answer questions in front of a UK Parliamentary investigation into Facebook’s failure to protect users privacy, and hold accountable for the Cambridge Analytica data breach outrage, the U.K. Parliament has seized a cache of Facebook’s confidential documents from an American software executive visiting the country on business.

The Guardian reports that Parliamentary officers used their legal powers to demand the handover of a number of Facebook documents which are believed to contain proof the social media giant knew a lot more than they have admitted about the Cambridge Analytica data scandal which saw the personal information on 87 million Facebook users mined by a third party software developer that intended to sell the data to political organisations. The decision to seize the documents came after Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg refused to appear before U.K. Parliament to testify about the data breach as he did before U.S. Congress. Zuckerberg instead offered to send a Facebook representative.

Damian Collins MP,  chair of the Culture, Media and Sport select committee, took advantage of a rarely used parliamentary power to force the founder of U.S. based software company Six4Three to hand over documents relating to Facebook while he was in the U.K. on business. Parliament went as far as sending a sergeant-at-arms to the software company founder’s hotel to give him a two-hour deadline to comply with its order and hand over the documents. When he failed to do so, he was escorted to Parliament where he was informed he faced heavy fines and even imprisonment for not complying.

He complied.

“This is an unprecedented move,” said Collins,  “but it’s an unprecedented situation. We’ve failed to get answers from Facebook and we believe the documents contain information of very high public interest.”

Collins added that Zuckerberg’s refusal to testify before the U.K. Parliament and testimony from a Facebook executive in February which they found to be misleading has forced Parliament’s hand in the matter. As usual, when challenged by the authorities, Facebook have acted as if they are above the law. Obviously Zuckerberg does not realise his friend and protector Barack Obama is no longer president. Well I’ve often said any adult who has a five year old’s haircut like the one Zuck sports cannot possibly be smart.

A statement issued by the Culture, Media and Sport select committee, stated: “We have very serious questions for Facebook. It misled us about Russian involvement on the platform. And it has not answered our questions about who knew what, when with regards to the Cambridge Analytica scandal. We have followed this court case in America and we believed these documents contained answers to some of the questions we have been seeking about the use of data, especially by external developers.”

The cache of legal documents from Six4Three make a number of allegedly damning statements about Facebook, claiming that the social media firm was aware of the implications of its privacy policy and actually purposefully exploited them, leading to the loophole which allowed Cambridge Analytica to collect the user data of 87 million users.

How Google Destroyed the Internet
The idea of the internet was that it would be a communications tool that freed information by making all public domain documents, libraries and archives accessible for everyone. Unfortunately the corporate monopoly men of Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and Facebook and political control freaks had other ideas. They also understood the technolgy while the hippies and liberals ignored professionals warnings that internet systems would become a perfect toool of censorship.

US Lobbying Group Accuses UK of ‘Attempting to Silence Criticism of Islamism’

Tommy Robinson – picture: Huffington Post

Controversial British activist Tommy Robinson was arrested on contempt of court charges earlier this year for filming inside Canterbury Crown Court while four suspected rapists were being tried. Robinson,  real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has been invited to the USA to speak at a closed-door conservative event and publicly address Americans in Washington.

The Middle East Forum, seven members of congress, and the David Horowitz Freedom Center, invited Robinson on Wednesday to give a talk at the Conservative Opportunity Society in November, provided legal proceedings against the activist end favorably and permit him to travel abroad.

While Robinson’s political views may be a tad extreme for most, he has a point in accusing the UK government and legal system of failing to act properly and justly in failing to prosecute the predominantly Muslim members of gangs that for many years groomed and abused vulnerable, under age girls in British towns. Police and care authorities were pressurised by politicians to ignore reports of these crimes until a wave of public presure, led in part by Robinson, forced then to act.

In a press release, the ME Forum accused the British government of “attempting to silence criticism of Islamism”, adding that Robinson will shed light on the matter and his work confronting Islamist extremists during his visit to Washington. There is a lot of evidence to support the allegation, and similar behaviour from the ruling elites of Europe have been one of the drivers of resurgent nationalism. Multiculturalism does not mean giving Muslims a licence to rape.

Furthermore, the US organization has vowed to “continue to support Mr. Robinson personally, as well as the general right to publicly discuss controversial subjects – including those related to Islam – without facing legal jeopardy.”

The group has lobbied the US government to pressure the UK throughout Robinson’s recent legal proceedings, also issuing numerous statements in support of him and his activism.

Brexit has terrified ‘Brussels bubble’ – German insider

German Political Journalist Tanit Koch

The EU elite “lost faith in their own appeal and abilities” following the Brexit referendum vote and the surge in support for nationalist parties. The knee jerk response of the Brussels bubble was to try (and fail) to punish Britain for defing Brussels in the same way as they had punished small nations like Greece, Portugal and Ireland, which in their perception was the only way to prevent the EU breaking apart.

Top bureaucrats in Brussels are terrified at the prospect of the European Union breaking apart, according to a European expert. The fragility of the EU bloc since the financial crisis of 2008 is behind the punishment tactics and intransigence of negogiator Michel Barnier and other EU leaders.

Tanit Koch, now of the Transatlantic Commission on Election Integrity” (TCEI) who previously worked as editor of German magazine Bild, said that the Brexit referendum result shocked the Brussels leadership, who did not have a clue how to respond. Her comments come less than two weeks before the major EU summit this month, at which the direction of Brexit and the future of the EU could be decided.

Koch told BBC’s The World This Weekend: “In the last two years, within Europe, especially within the Brussels bubble, they have lost faith in their own appeals and their own abilities.

“They are desperate for the European Union not to implode or break apart.

“It is not so much about punishing Britain as many in this country suggest.

“It is an honest fear that if a precedent is set, that someone who leaves gets a better deal, others will follow suit.”

Koch also revealed the extent to which EU federalisation dogma has taken hold among the top rank in the business world across Europe. She spoke of a recent meeting between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and prominent German business leaders on Brexit. When Mrs Merkel insisted that the sngle market would not be compromised, raising the prospect of a no deal, the business leaders cheered.

She claimed that support of the “EU’s holy grail” meant more to the German CEOs than the huge expected hit to their businesses. The Daily Stirrer finds this a little far fetched as we know from our own sources that many German firms have lobbied for Merkel to support a reasonable deal for Britain.

Despite the apparent deadlock in recent months, a change of tone has emerged in the last week among EU leaders, after long months of them insisting none of their conditions was negotiable. Yesterday, European Council President Donald Tusk said he was confident that the EU and UK would secure a deal by the end of the year.

The military-industrial-humanitarian complex: Western hegemony spread by virtue signalling?

The terms ‘humanitarian’ and ‘democracy’ were once used to describe honourable behaviour and just causes. Now they have become contenders, along with science, socialism and liberal for the dubious honour of being the most abused words in the English language, routinely deployed to justify politically motivated acts of aggression which lead to death and destruction.
Words such as ‘humanitarian’ and ‘democracy’ have acquired a darker and more cynical meaning following their misappropriation to justify the invasion of sovereign nations, effect regime change and promote the spread of Western military, economic and cultural dominance around the world. The mainstream media and many human rights activists, assist these ventures by broadcasting and publishing propagandised news and by tapping into negative emotions such as fear and outrage to soften public opinion and make interference in the political affairs of sovereign states appear justified.
If you remember 2001 and the lies of western politicians and media about Saddam Hussein’s Weapons of Mass Destruction, supposedly capable of being deployed against western targets within 45 minutes, the strategy was used to swing public opinion behind the US / EU / NATO push for a war that would rid them of a maverick leader.  The public were deceived into accepting the invasion through attention-grabbing headlines crafted to abhor readers with ‘evidence’ of Saddam’s butchery and to generate strong emotional reactions which would cause people to think with their hearts rather than their heads.
One story was written by UK Labour MP Ann Clwyd, and published by the one time newspaper of record The Times  two days before the US-led Coalition of the Willing began pounding Iraq’s cities and infrastructure with carpet bombing attacks. Clwyd claimed that Saddam had demonstrated a ‘human-shredding machine’ into which adversaries were fed and reduced to fish food. It is of course a variation on a scence in the Coen brothers film Fargo in which a wood shredder is used to render a corpse unidentifiable.
The article, under the title “See men shredded, then say you don’t back war” was quoted by other newspapers and by TV and radio news and caused readers to feel revulsion towards Saddam and his regime, and made the anti-war lobby appear sympathetic to a murderous regime dubbed by one tabloid, “The Butchers Of Bagdhad,” and indifferent to the plight of the Iraqi people. The story was challenged by anti – war campaigners and no evidence of such a device has been found. And for the record Saddam was supported by more than half of Iraquis, a popularity he achieved by the simple expedient of using a significant proportion of his country’s oil revenues to provide generous welfare payments.

The Iraqi dictator was certainly no angel, but he did manage to keep down the extremist elements in his country ,and of course, his removal by the the western military powers, USA , UK and France (The FUKUS axis,) facilitated the rise of ISIS some years later. Saddam’s real crimes were well known to US and NATO intelligence services, who kept him informed about the locations of Iranian troops during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s, in the knowledge that he would use mustard gas and sarin against them.

The US also provided Saddam with cluster bombs and helped him acquire chemical precursor agents. US-based Human Rights Watch estimated that Saddam killed at least 290,000 of his own people while in power.  However, this figure is dwarfed by the number of Iraqis believed to have died in the aftermath of the 2003 invasion, due to occupation forces, sectarian violence or ISIS – this figure is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands, if not in excess of a million.

The psychological shock-and-awe strategy was again employed in the lead up to NATO’s bombing of Libya, as the US and UK’s on-off relationship with Gaddafi took a turn for the worse after he planned to start selling oil in dinars (a new gold-backed pan-African currency) instead of US dollars or euros, and encouraged his African neighbors to follow suit.

The release of emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server in late 2015, just as the 2016 election campaign was getting under way revealed that such a move would have strengthened African economies and led to competition between the dinar and the dollar or euro. In fact there is in progress now a move led by Russia and China to dump the US$ as reserve currency and move to a system of settling cross border trades in the vendors currency. And earlier this year, China launched the Petroyuan, a gold-backed contract for trading oil futures, on the Shanghai stock & commodity exchange. So old Mad Dog Muammar was just unfortunate enough to be ahead of the game when he had no powerful allies to back him up.

On this occasion, we were treated to the excuse that bombing Libya and supporting the anti-Gaddafi rebels, including Al-Qaeda-affiliated elements, was necessary as Gaddafi was about to commit a massacre against the people of the rebel-controlled city of Benghazi. Another emotive claim designed to mould public opinion into accepting the war affirmed that Gaddafi was giving his soldiers Viagra so they could commit mass rape. An investigation by Amnesty International found no evidence to support this allegation and revealed that on several occasions anti-Gaddafi forces in Benghazi had made false allegations or manufactured evidence of human rights violations.

Without any sense of irony American, European and British politicians and the media now try to justify censorship of news and opinion, seeking to justify this illiberal and undemocratic activity by claiming it is necessary to silence those who spread ‘fake news’. Do we really believe governments and the media are going to censor themselves? Do we believe Google are suddenly going to cease and desist from suppressing factual information and opinions critical of their cronies in Washington? Do we believe Facebook are going to remove the globalist bias from their algorithms and give equal prominence to news and ideas that do not support Zuckerberg’s world domination agenda? Do we look as though we were born yesterday?

The concern of governments and their corporate friends about fake news is that with the rise of new media real news will leak out into the public domain and expose the fact that governments have been feeding us fake news since the modern era began with the protestant reformation.

Britain Should Be Facing Global Outrage Over Skripal Saga, Not Russia

Some people may believe it is mere coincidence that in the week The UK, France and the USA (the FUKUS axis) discussed plans for appropriate measures, which would involve bombs and possibly a military incursion, in retaliation for a chemical weapon attack in Syria that has not taken place yet, the increasingly ludicrous story of the assassination attempt on former Russian agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia has come to the top of the news again.

Obviously the fires of Russophobia need to be stoked to get voters in any of the nations involved in the frustrated bit to overthrow the Assad government in Syria on board for a military intervention that could easily escalate into armed conflict between the western power and Russia, which will likely be supported by Iran and China.

Last week’s  announcement by the British government that two named Russian suspects were being sought in connection with the alleged poisoning of a former Russian spy turned double agent, who after his release from prison in an exchange deal between the US and Russia may have been involved in private intelligence work for some very dodgy characters is more absurd drama in a long-running tawdry saga.

Skripal assassination suspects (they could be anybody) Picture: 247enquirer.com

As in all previous developments in this case, no verifiable evidence that these two ordinary looking men work for the Russian secret service, or even that they are Russian. News of their involvement has been presented, with more lurid innuendo against the Russian state and the usual refusal by the British authorities to abide by any due process and international norms of diplomacy. It is all scurrilous sound and fury aimed at smearing Russia.

This week, Britain’s Metropolitan Police released video shots of the alleged assassains, purporting to show them, each alone, walking down a corridor at London’s Gatwick airport on March 2.They were not together but according to the timestamp on the CCTV still has arrived  in the exact same spot at the exact same time. When sharp eyed bloggers and alt_media journalists pointed this out, the government quickly claimed there are parallel corridors. That’s possible, but to be at the same point, marching in lockstep, not even a a yard apart should stretch our credulity.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like, but consider this thought from the conspiracy theorist in chief:

skripals-pair-image

Other video shots produced as evidence of their involvement show the same men walking the streets of a town that might be Salisbury. There’s no reason to believe it isn’t, but with no distinguishing landmarksthe street could be almost anywhere.

Still from I?TV news via The Daily Mail online

On March 3, the day before former Russian Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were apparently stricken with a powerful nerve agent. The two would-be assassins then allegedly flew back to Moscow from London late on March 4.

One of the most preposterous claim made by British security services, is that traces of the Novichok nerve agent used to poison the Skripals were found in the London hotel room where the alleged Kremlin agents stayed. The incompetence of these two supposedly highly trained super assassins is beyond belief . If the official narrative is correct, they seem to have spilled this stuff everywhere they went. Yet, we are told, it is one of the most potent nerve agents known and contact with a miniscule amount can be fatal. Leaving aside the potency of Novichok which seems to be in some doubt, it is amazing that of the five people affected by the poison as the Russian assassins splashed it about randomly throughout southern England, the two who have died were not the targets of this clowninsh operation.

More realistically clumsy, however, is the attempt by the British to lay an incriminating trail and now to name and blame two Russians who we are told were back in Russia or at least on their way back when the first victims were affected by the poison.

Former British ambassador Craig Murray and other astute observers have noted that the latest video shots released by Britain’s counter-terrorism police are highly questionable. The images could have been easily fabricated with modern digital methods. They are not evidence of anything. Yet, suspiciously, the British authorities are in unseemly haste to make their sensational charges of Russian state culpability.

The day after the Met police announcement implicating the two Russian culprits, Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May stood up in front of her parliament and claimed that the two individuals were members of Russian military intelligence, the GRU. Rather predicably the Russian government denied ever having heard of them. UK government Home Office security  minister, Ben Wallace, then accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of having personal responsibility for ordering the alleged assassination plot although there is no evidence for that and at a time of heightened tensions such outbursts are never going to be helpful.

Then on Thursday Britain summoned a meeting of the United Nations Security Council to reiterate its claims against Russia without providing any further substantiating details to back up the sensational accusations which are based on the belief that creating a bogeyman will swing public opinion in favour of military action against. The credulous British news media have obedienly pimped up the accusations giving the claims a veneer of credibility, holding the warmongers and military – industrial complex salesmen in government to account over the numerous irregularities in this narrative.

Vasily Nebenzia, Russia’s envoy to the United Nations commented that the whole aim of  Britain’s accusations is to whip up more anti-Russian feeling in the international community. As envoy Nebenzia pointed out, it is entirely unreasonable for the British prime minister to make the categorical claim that the two allegedly Russian men in the video shots released this week are members of the GRU? Typically, she made the claim without providing any substantiating information as she has previously accused Russia of hostile acts without citing any evidence.

The British government is also teetering on political implosion from the Brexit debacle and growing public contempt for Prime minister May’s amateurish incompetence and lack of leadership qualities.

This was the same kind of plucking from thin air that Theresa May performed only days after the Skripals were apparently poisoned in Salisbury on March 4. Again, back then, May stood in front of parliament and dramatically accused Russia of a state-sponsored assassination attempt. The British authorities have cast, and continue to cast, a verdict without any legal case. That verdict relies entirely on Russophobia and prejudice of Russian malfeasance.

No sooner had Britain unleashed its latest allegations, than a joint statement was released by the United States, Canada, Germany and France supporting the British claims. All this comes at a time when it is widely known the Assad government, backed by Russia and Iran, is preparing an all – out assault on Syria’s Idlib province, the last stronghold of the various Islamic extremist groups that with the backing of the USA’s Obama administration, (Trump ordered the US to cease funding and supplying arms to the rebels,) the EU, NATO and Saudi Arabia, have been trying to overthrow Assad for four years.  As I reported in mid August the Russian government predicted a false flag chemical weapon incident was being prepared to justify military intervention to prevent the final defeat of Islamic State.

Britain is now, stupidly, calling for more punitive economic sanctions against Moscow as it did earlier this year when the Skripals apparently fell ill on a park bench in Salisbury, a quiet Cathedral city in southern England. Russian diplomats have  now been expelled from twenty eight nations over earlier and similarly unsubstantiated claims about Russian malfeasance. More sanctions are likely, with the intended effect of framing Russia as a pariah state only resulting in economically harming EU and NATO members that trade with Russia more that Russia itself.

The timing of this latest development in the Skripal saga is probably significant. As reported in my opening paragraphs, the US, Britain and France are threatening to launch military strikes on Syria just as the Syrian army and its Russian ally move to defeat the last-remaining stronghold of weatern-backed terror groups formed to effect regime change in that country.

The defeat of IS would bring to an ignominious end the  criminal war against the Assad government in Damascus, a war which, according to very real evidence available in the public domain, was intended to impose a puppet regime in Damascus and facilitate the building of oil and gas pipelines from Saudi Arabia and the gulf states to the Easter Mediterranean, thus undermining Russia’s oil and gas trade with Europe.

Last month Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel held a productive, cordial summit with President Putin near Berlin, where the two leaders appeared to solidify a rapprochement over a crucial energy project between Russia the European Union. This news was not well received in Washington or Riyadh where the US government fears moves to dump the US dollar as global reserve currency, while the Saudis sense their ability to control the global trade in oil slipping away.

Christian Hating Conservatives: UK Gov’t Rejects Syrian Christians, Refugee Intake 100 Percent Muslim

The British government has admitted that no Christians were taken among the Syrian refugees flown into Britain recently, with the Home Office rejected the handful of non-Muslims selected for resettlement by the United Nations.

Despite the persecution of Christians at the hands of Islamic extremists in Syria having been declared genocide by the U.S., the European Union (EU) and even British MPs themselves in a 2016 parliamentary vote, the 1,112 Syrians that Britain resettled in the first three months of 2018 consisted only of Muslims.

The Barnabas Fund, an aid agency which supports Christians persecuted for their faith, obtained the figures via Freedom of Information requests after “a protracted tussle with the Home Office”, The Sunday Times reports.

According to the data, 1,226 (90 percent) of the 1,358 individuals recommended by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for resettlement in the United Kingdom during the first three months of this year were Sunni Muslims, who comprise around 65 per cent of Syrians.

So the government bell – ends are turning away people whose community was on the receiving end of genocidal oppression and letting in their oppresors. Brilliant.

Prominent Labour Brexiteer REVEALS How EU Will Try Last Minute Switch To Shaft Brexit

German born former Labour MP Gisela Stuart and a leading leave campaigner in the run up to the Brexit referendum,  now Chair of Change Britain, said member states will come in at the very end of the Brexit process to try and salvage some kind of free trade deal, Stuart said on the BBC’s The Daily Politics magazine programme.

She told presenters Andrew Neil and Jo Coburn: “I have negotiated for 15 months with Barnier and that is a typical position.

“The member states come in at the very end and you will not have a deal until five minutes to midnight.

“All kinds of things which you thought were agreed or not agreed will raise their heads again.”

Remain supporting Labour MP Clive Lewis, one of the noisiest scaremongers who predicts catastrophe if we leave the EU on any terms other than those dictated by Brussels was asked if that reassures him.

He said: “No it does not because five minutes before midnight is not like ‘ooh you turn into a pumpkin’ it is queues at ports.

“That is not project fear this is the reality, you have got Jacob Rees-Mogg saying it could be 50years before we begin to feel the benefits of Brexit. My constituents have not got 50years to wait.”

Brexit hardliner Rees Mogg has said no such thing,  what he has said Britain is heading for a no deal exit from the EU, but why would anyone expect a remain supporter to be anything but a lying piece of shit. The whole Remain campaign was built on lies. Their biggest lie, and one of the most frequently repeated is that Britain cannot survive outside a trading bloc like the EU, which they claim is the largest such bloc in the world. Actually, its the only bloc of its kind in the world and it’s membership of 27 nations out of a total of 195 nations, most of which are doing quite nicely than you, suggests that EU membership is not a prerequisite for national survival.

During a phone-in on LBC this week, Mr Rees-Mogg said: “I think we are heading to WTO and I think WTO (World Trade Organisation) is nothing to be frightened of. I think we should carry on negotiating until the end. I don’t think we necessarily need the theatrics of walking away, but the truth is that WTO is likely to be all that they will offer us.”

In fact the trading terms for cross border trades observed by WTO members are not much different to trading terms between EU member states, but do not impose any ‘free movement’ or ‘open borders’ restrictions.
