USA Extends Drone war To Africa

There is no doubt that one of the main factors in making the USA the most hated nation on earth is the fondness shown by The White House and The Pentagon for waging war with weapons that not only cannot be resisted by America’s chosen opponents, but that kill indiscriminately.

Put troops on the ground and even guys with obsolete firearms, bows and arrows and even pointed sticks can resist. Put tanks in the field and guys with petrol bombs and week killer land mines can disable them.

Put aircraft, particularly unmanned aircraft into the equation, and factor in the ‘collateral damage’ (a phrase which dehumanises innocent victims) hand you have the perfect weapon for making the formerly disinterested into your enemies. And remember, the USA’s precision bombs were proved in the Gulf Wars to have the capability of being able to miss the huge wall of a target site from point blank range and yet seek out and destroy the only wedding party or child
naming ceremony in a ten thousand square mile area.

So why we wonder is the USA taking its drone war against the third world into deepest, sub Saharan Africa? There cannot be any reason for it, the cited aim of neutralising Boko Haram is not valid because Boko Haram are not a standing army but a guerilla force that strikes and then melts away into the civilian population.

So what should we make of the American motives behind this latest development reported (to the chagrin of Obama, The White House and the Washington warmongers we suspect) by The Intercept.
