if you have read the latest research on the Gulf Stream published by Science Advances and are naive enough to believe it, you may have been relieved to learn that the world is getting on with decarbonisation quite nicely.

It warns that the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (AMOC) is closer to a tipping point than feared due to Greenland ice melt, which dilutes seawater salinity and weakens the gyres.

The collapse could come at any time, it could be nonlinear and sudden, and it could lower average temperatures in North European cities by 5 to 15 degrees – turning Britain into southern Alaska. It would set off a global chain reaction and destabilise rainforests.

Net Zero and The Great Renewables Deception

Accoring to former prime minister Theresa May, tying the government and by default the long suffering taxpayers of this country into a legally binding commitment to achieve ‘net zero’ by 2050 was one of the crowning achievements of her time in office although how she could possibly know what would happen several decades in the future is a mystery, especially as she clearly did not know what was going on around her at the time. Well let’s be honest, the Maybot screwed up every contemporary policy action so there were no other achievements with which anyone who cared thirty years in the future could compare. There was no outcome May would ever have to deal with so I suppose a meidocre, incompetent politician like May would consider having got away with making a law that was guaranteed to trash the national economy and drive millions of Britons into third world levels of poverty an achievement.

The green revolution which Theresa May and her government embraced was only ever an illusion given false credibility by promise: of cheaper energy, of greener jobs, and of a cleaner environment. 

Only five years down the line and that wildly optimistic and myopic view of the net-zero myth is rapidly collapsing into ruins. Last month’s auction of licences for offshore wind farm developments – where no bids to build new offshore wind were submitted – served as a heads up not just to the wind industry, but to everyone individual and organisation with a financial interest the net-zero transition. 

This was a profound humiliation for the renewables industry and its supporters, and was understood to be due to costs spiralling out of control and output from all types of renewables technologies falling far short of levels predicted by scientists and their mathematical models. This week Tom Glover, chair of RWE Renewables UK arm, has suggested that prices per megawatt hour will need to rise substantially, from £44 to somewhere between £65 and £75. 

In other words: wind farms might generate energy at zero cost if we ignore the initial capital investment in manufacturing and erecting the turbine and the very high maintenance costs, but for it to be economically viable once capital investement, maintenance and distribution costs are accounted for it is almost double the price of power generated in gas, nuclear or coal powered generators. And higher costs mean higher bills.

It turns out energy policy isn’t as straightforward as the greener we get, the cheaper things get. Glover’s comments are a far more honest assessment than the eco-equivalent of “have your cake and eat it” line we’ve been fed for years. But with that honesty also comes some mandatory reassessment.

We have been totally misled by politicians and vested interests (grant phishing scientists, profiteering ‘green blob’ corporations,) about the likely consequences of what is if we’re honest, a trivial fkluctuation in global average temperatures.

Wind energy – once you include the required grid upgrades, storage and backup requirement – are multiples more expensive than the demonised fossil fuel and nuclear resources that currently generate most of our energy.

We have been deceived by Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) figures that don’t include any of the major cost factors for renewables, most blatantly the huge upfront capital investment. We should be furious. We should be out in the streets demanding that Energy Department ministers and civil servants’, senior executives of renewable energy businesses’ and the mad scientists mad scientists’ heads be displayed on spikes around the perimeter railings of The Palace of Westminster! (metaphorically of course.) They have all betrayed the public and serve political agendas nobody ever has or would vote for.

Once you include those and the required grid, storage and backup, the LCOE rises from the advertised $40/MWh, to nearer $300/MWh. (coal power being around $60)

To embezzle taxpayer’s money in the way all these people have is a heinous crime by any standards. This money is forcibly taken from all of us on pain of imprisonment. Students pay tax (VAT), pensioners also. Car owners pay road tax, fulel tax and excise duty (and VAT on all those taxes,) people who enjoy a beer or a glass of wine or spirits pay tax and duty on their pleasure, people who like a bet on the horses or other sporting events pay betting tax. There are myriad other taxes, licence fees, duties, tolls etc. that we pay to national and local government. In total almost half of our hard – earned goies back to these self serving scumbags. Our money should be treated with respect. The fact that dishonest con artists in government, business, academia and media have all had their snouts in the trough we so generously fill, promising energy security but actually delivering us into energy poverty and ruin is an insult to all of us.

The Truth Is Out, Net Zero Will Bakrupt The World

A study by the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC), published on Tuesday 18 October, estimates in its advice to government that if the UK is to hit its 2050 target for achieving ‘Net Zero’, taxpayers will have to find roughly double the amount of money the nation would have had to spend on renewing and updating energy and transport infrastructure over the next 27 years to £2 trillion, the additional £1 trillion to be spent on the implementing the green agenda.

A trillion, its easy to say but is an unimaginably big amount of money to find. A good illustration of how big is to imagine spending a pound a second every single second, no weekends, no holidays, no time off for good behaviour, for the next 31,709 years and 10 months (and yes, I did use a computers to work that out.)

31,710 years ago our ancestors, though they had moved on from the knuckle dragging phase of human evolution, were, as far as we know, still living in caves, eating raw meat and running around naked.

A trillion is a conservative estimate of course. Given that the UK national debt is increasing at roughly one million pounds every three and a half minutes and that our spending on health and welfare, energy, roads and railways, education, defence, environment etc. etc. is not likely to go down that estimated cost of Net Zero is likely to increase exponentially in the way government projects always do and end up having cost not two trillion but 22 trillion in 27 years time.

So unless government suddenly comes to its senses and realises that unless we want to return to living in caves, eating raw meat and running around naked we had better abandon ‘net zero’ unless it plans to reduce unemployment by hiring gangs of muscular people to shovel money into firey furnaces (thus causing lots of CO2 to be emitted.) Most of the (estimated) extra trillion would go on replacing petrol cars with electric ones and gas boilers with electric heat pumps, and on generating, transmitting and distributing the extra electricity needed for these two uses. It also includes a host of other capital projects, including better household insulation. With all that electric demand, we would need extra power stations, extra pylons and upgrades of household electrical circuits. And we would need subsidies for installing the heat pumps and buying electric vehicles. And if anyone thinks that lot could be done for a paltry one trillion, that person is probably working as a senior economic adviser for the treasury department.

According to the assessment £74 billion would have to be spent on closing down and decommissioning the gas network: the National Infrastructure Commission (NIC), which was set up to promote economic growth, has been so totally hijacked by the bansturbators of the green lobby that it is now a National Dismantling Commission.

With the exception of home insulation, very little of that £1 trillion would actually improve your lifestyle in any practical way. It does not promise to give you cheaper or more reliable electricity in fact wind and solar are proving more expensive and less reliable. It would not save you any money or give you any more spare time — or make you more productive.

It would generally replace smaller things with bigger things — more pylons, heavier cars, bigger radiators, wind farms occupying hundreds of acres of good land instead of gas turbine power stations occupying five acres — so it would actually clutter the world more.

Facts and arguments aren’t going to change the minds of Net Zero advocates of course. What will change their minds is the sense that those of us who do not enjoy the inflated salaries and inflation linked pensions of public sector workers, and therefore are opposed to all this Net Zero, save the planet bollocks (not of which is backed by scientific evidence, all the green lobby have is output from mathematical models,) and are getting angry. The fearmongering tactics favoured by the elite has failed as realisation grows that all these virtue signalling policies so beloved of the elite are going to impoverish us and push us back to the kind of living standards endured by working people in the nineteenth century and might just pick up out pitchforks and cudgels (metaphorical ones of course, we can do much more damage with a couple of household cleaning products and a cheap burner phone,) and going after Net Zero zealots, their energy efficient homes and their beloved pimped up and highly combustible golf trolleys.

They need to feel the need to abandon quasi – religious ideology at an emotional level and face mundane reality. And as we all know, because the elites, the wannabe overlords, taught us, fear is best weapon for changing minds.

Greta Thunberg Arrested Again

Greta Thunberg has today been arrested for taking part again in a protest action that sought to make a point through illegal actions, having been detained by police officers in Central London. Joining a Fossil Free protest, she and other proestors blocked the entrance to the InterContinental Hotel where an Energy Intelligence Forum conference was being held. (BBC News 17 – 10 – 23)

Will UK Leave ECHR Over Its Blocking Efforts To Control Illegal Immigration?

Earlier this year there was a lot of talk and many words written in mainsteam media speculating on whether Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, was seriously considering contesting the next election on a commitment to withdrawing from the ECHR if the European Court of Human Rights were to find his new immigration legislation incompatible with the Convention. Only this week, Robert Jenrick, the Minister for Immigration, said that the Government would do “whatever is necessary” to stop “the small boats”, clearly implying that this included withdrawal from the ECHR.

The UK/ECHR head – to – head is quite similar to the Germany/ECJ-ECB headbutting contest  witnessed in recent years concerning the ECB’s bond buying programme.

Though the European Court of Human Rights is not actually part of the EU its decisions and recommendations often for the basis of policy for EU member states particularly on the always controversial issue of immigration. But the ECHR is not an elected body made up of representatives from various constituencies, instead it is a body consisting of intellectuals, civil servants, and senior legal professionals. And these individuals have little understanding of the realities affecting the lives people who fall under their jurisdiction. Thus when the court’s members make a decision on human rights the impact on the lives of ordinary people living in member states is not an important consideration.

But the decisions of the ECHR are not really about human rights or the interests of voters in its member states, they are about power and control as these things usually are. And the ECHR has, by overreaching its authority, usurped to itself a great deal of the sovereign power of its member states.

ECHR is based around a presumption that it is there to sort out rights abuses involving individuals, including irregular migrants. What such conventions do not take into account is that their decisions made about individuals affect aggregate behaviour. The number of irregular migrants increases as people in poor countries perceive that ECHR, etc., has rendered European governments impotent with regard to controlling migration. Selling the family’s goats to pay the people traffickers becomes a more attractive proposition when success is 97% guaranteed.

The European Central Bank (ECB) has also been quite creative in the way it interprets its own mandate and it was grating more and more against the core principles of the German constitution: at some point there was going to be a showdown. The German Constitutional Court fired a couple of shots over the ECB’s bows first before it all came to a head. In the event the showdown never happened some good old European bureaucratic dirty deal was bodged up, allowing the German threaury and the ECB to back down without having to admit they had backed down.

The same will probably happen in the UK / ECHR kerfuffle over the treatment of ‘asylum seekers. The Conservative government, with the 2024 election in mind, wants to get tough on people who arrive in our country or turn up on our shores without and identification or official documentation and claim they are ‘asylum seekers’. The ECHR says they must be treated as asylum seekers even though they are unable to prove that they meet any of the criteria for being granted political asylum.  

 The Government needs to exercise caution in the way that they approach this. Rabid, lurid campaigning against it, featuring the kind of statements heard from Tory ranks this week (“migrants who don’t want to go on the Bibby Stockholm can f*ck off back to France”) are going to go down really badly internationally (including with the Yanks due to the link to the GFA). More rational, principled debate and discussion along the lines of this article would be the way forward.

What puzzles many of us ordinary punters (i.e. non – lawyers,)  is the attitude of many English lawyers who seem to react to any suggestion that we should revise our attitude or even abandon the ECHR as blasphemy. It seems to go beyond a proper respect for treaties. Is it that they see the ECHR as our equivalent of the US Constitution (as interpreted by the US Supreme Court)? and therefore a necessary guarantee of the rule of law? of the prevention of executive abuse? of the power of activist judges? or is it just the usual groupthink and insistence on orthodoxy which seems to be a growing part of the zeitgeist more generally? It seems odd given the smugness with which English lawyers used to proclaim the supposed superiority of the Common Law and other aspects of our legal system.

It is obvious that the legal profession, like politics, the media, medical professions, academia and the snivel service is increasingly infected by woke left thinking and therefore the ill – defined term ‘human rights’ has become a dogma.

It has been observed that when the legal community was more conservative, the elder a conservative members of the profession may have been bemused by the irrational, cultural – Marxist ravings of young left wing upstarts but they did not attempt to silence or discriminate against them. Now the woke brigade are in the ascendancy, dissenting views age actively frowned upon, are effectively career limiting and can result in a lawyer being struck off.

 Until recently the test of a lawyer was whether the practicioner was able to see through and dispense with the BS and get to the crux of the matter. No longer so, it seems that the profession is just as prone to herd behaviour, emotional handwringing and virtue signalling as teachers or academics.

 Because ‘Human Rights’ has become such an emotive phrase it is unlikely the UK will ever leave the ECHR and put itself in the company of Russia and Belarus. What could happen is that the Conservatives may push back on Strasbourg’s “mission creep”. If the UK succeeds in doing that there could easily be several governments in Europe eager to follow suit. The US government will be happy too, as its ally isn’t siding with the enemy or messing with the GFA…and frankly, having their own illegal immigration fiasco going on, the Americans should have ample sympathy for the British (and larger European) predicament.

Environmentalists Hype The Summer Heat, Ignore The Winter Chill And Call It Science

You might think the world is burning and we’re all doomed if you beleived the latest hysterical ravings of climate scientists, but while wildfires rage in Greece, here in the north of England it’s so cold I’ve had to put my heating on as we endure the coldest July on record.

 According to Daniel Turner, founder and executive director of the nonprofit climate change scepticism advocacy group Power the Future, who insists that environmental activists are hyping up heat events such as the hot weather parts of the  United States and southern Europe seeing right now. While mainstream media reporters are whipping themselves into a frenzy over the summer’s heat, the kind of temperatures being recorded should not be causing surprise and dismay since since the affected areas are part of the Northern Hemisphere, where the months of July and August “should be hot,” according to Mr. Turner. He accused environmentalist scaremongering groups of hyping up heat while ignoring the  recent intense winters experienced in the same areas of the world.

“It’s very strange, though, that the environmental left loves to talk about the summer, they love to talk about the heat. Because it’s sexy, the heat is oppressive, it’s very uncomfortable. But the cold is actually much more deadly,” he said.

“On average, four times more people die of the cold. And yet when we have terrible winters, we don’t blame that on climate change. We just call that winter because it doesn’t fit the narrative that the planet is getting warmer. So they just ignore the winter.”

This is something my fellow ‘conspiracy theorist’ Graham Lear and I have noticed over perhaps as much as fifteen years now.  While year after year environmentalist groups and government departments claim a new record has been set for the hottest year ever, either the data is being manipulated or these wonderful sciencetits (sic) with their marvellous mathematical models are deficient in basic numeracy skills because they do not understand how to calculate a simple average.

Turner’s stance is refreshing but he faces a tough battle to be heard above the screeching of the numerous climate change alarmist groups such as the one which responded to his criticism of alarmism with predictions of imminent desolation and catastrophe as a result of our climate crimes;

This article makes the statement;

• ”Unless the world rapidly stops burning fossil fuels, these events will become even more common and the world will experience heatwaves that are even hotter and longer-lasting. A heatwave like the recent ones would occur every 2-5 years in a world that is 2°C warmer than the preindustrial climate.”

When I was working in the nuclear industry in the 1980s the engineers and designers would refer to the academic experts who advised government policy makers as “often in error, never in doubt”. It seems the climate ‘experts’ are cast from the same material, they have no doubt whatsoever that whatever is happening to the climate (if anything) it is all the fault of humanity. 

The more they repeat this mantra with the certainty of zealots, the more it seems like the credo of some weird doomsday cult, there are echoes of the notion of original sin and that we are all sinners and debase ourselves before the righteous and sacrifice all the benefits of civilisation in order to be saved.

 In this respect it echoes the Abrahamic religions in the way it uses guilt to keep they leity in line and preserve the power of the elite priesthood. Judaism, Christianity and Islam all rely on keeping people in fear of divine retribution but having been brought up in what can be loosely described as the Christian tradition I can only comment on the scam that has held Christian churches together for almost 2000 years. When people say to me now, “Jesus died on the cross for your sins,” I will answer, “That’s tough but I didn’t ask him to.”

I refuse to feel guilt about a myth. We are all responsible for our own actions and have a duty to inform ourselves of the likely consequences of what we do and then to behave as decently as we can in the circumstances. But just as I reject allegations that I bear some responsibility for the death of a charcter believed to have lived 2000 years ago, I am no more going to accept responsibility for extreme weather events when those who accuse me are flying around the world in private jets to lecture us more humble folk on the sacrifices we must make in order to ‘save the planet.’

It seems to me that if we do as the doom mongers suggest and immediately and suddenly stop burning fossil fuels, the misery and suffering created will be immense and will hit the poorest in society and the people of the poorest nations hardest.

“WE are all in this together and YOU must make sacrifices to save the planet,” warn political leaders, clueless academics and the billionaire psychopaths who have bought control of politics, academia and the media. And few people stop to question why WE must make sacrifices while THEY continue to fly round the world in private jets, cruise the Mediterranean or Caribbean in luxury yachts that are more like floating palaces that leisure craft, and live in floodlit, air conditioned palaces that consume more energy than a middle sized town.

Well some of us do question, we are known to the majority as either online jornalists or ‘conspiracy theorists’ depending on a readers politics, and to the politicians, academics, billionaire psychopaths and people on their payrolls as “that bunch of awkward, really obnoxious bastards who refuse to believe ‘The Science’ and insist on challenging oppressive policies devised ‘for the greater good.’ 

Thanks to us bunch of awkward, really obnoxious bastards, and the statistics nerds at Statistia it is now becoming widely known that the world’s richest ten percent are responsible for an estimated 47 percent share of global CO2 emissions. This has been revealed by a recent study published in the journal Nature Sustainability, which focused on how tackling poverty worldwide would affect emissions of CO2, the harmless but demonised gas without which life is not possible but which has unscientifically been blamed for all the mathematical models of climate related catastrophes in the past thirty years. As Statista’s Florian Zandt shows in the chart below, the difference between the poorest and wealthiest people not only shows in their emission share.

ad the lower 50 percent income group only produces about  ton of CO2 per year compared to approximately 48 tons per capita of carbon dioxide emitted by the wealthiest one percent.

Of course, the results are different depending on the region. In Europe, USA, Canada or Australia for example, the bottom 50 percent had a higher estimated share of total emissions than the top ten percent, while the top one percent in Sub-Saharan Africa were responsible for more carbon emissions than the bottom 50 percent.

Combating poverty (a goal only committed virtue signallers would see as realistic,) around the world would require an unprecedented level of cooperation between nations and present logistical challenges of a scale never before envisaged, its effects on global warming would be minimal according to the study.Lifting over a billion people above the official poverty line under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1 would only raise the estimated global CO2 output by roughly two percent, even though carbon emissions in low to lower-middle income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa  and South East Asia could potentially double.

However the top ten per cent are unlikely to make sacrifices to reduce their gigantic footprints, and while the high to middle income groups of the developed nations are more likely to respond to the manipulative propaganda of behavioural scientists, even their scope for making a difference is tiny compared to emissions generated by manufacturing industry, transport and agriculture.

As Texas recovers from the “white out” triggered by an unusually powerful polar vortex, which led to heavy snowfalls as far south as Dallas, and freezing weather all over the state, power outages caused by windless days in which wind turbines in the state’s vast wind farms froze up because they could not be kept turning, and the photovolaic cells in snow covered solar panels were useless, the usual suspects crawled out of the woodwork to push the idiotic green energy agenda.
The Demented clown, Joe (Groper) Biden took a break from dreaming of little girls’ budding titties and the retarted shit-for-brains Alexandria Ocasio – Cortez claimed that if her Green New Deal plan (which would make the USA a client state of communist China,) would have prevented the disaster. Both these morons insisted that freak weather had nothing to do with problems in Texas and the crisis occurred only because the state did not have enough green energy.

A Texas Sized Green Power Failure.. In Texas, the cold snap and power outages have finally abated.

For nearly a week millions of Texans suffered power blackouts during severely cold weather. Water was out as well. For awhile, Texas was plunged into the Dark Ages. Part of the problem is America’s crumbling infrastructure. It is something President Trump addressed. He wanted to build new power plants, airports, bridges, and highways. Instead we have Biden carrying on Obama’s work of destroying America for the benefit of socialism and our enemy, China.

Biden’s regime did not want Texans to resort to emergency measures and burn more fossil fuels. Instead they had to rely on malfunctioning wind and solar farms, which proved ineffectual.

It’s a bitter cold irony that Texas is rich in oil, yet the power still went out and for those who did get power, their electric bills skyrocketed.

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez said her new Green New Deal would have helped to prevent the blackouts in Texas. It’s illogical for her to believe that climate change, global warming, and white supremacy are causing blackouts, but logic isn’t illuminating the socialist mind of AOC.
