The current generation of students are wankers, it is often said education has become religion and part of the prrof of that is the way both have similar miracles for followers to believe in. Christian belief can turn a mouthful of watered cheap wine and dry biscuit into the flesh and blood of The Christ and education has turned thousands of reasonable, intelligent Generation-Zeders into cunts. That is the only explanation for the idiocies perpetrated in the name of their ‘woke’ agenda by that generation.

In lambasting the ‘absurd’ cancelling of the Queen by Oxford students, who voted to taken down a portrait of the monarch from their common room, the Education Secretary Gavin Williamson wrote ‘Oxford University students removing a picture of the Queen is simply absurd.

‘She is the Head of State and a symbol of what is best about the UK. During her long reign she has worked tirelessly to promote British values of tolerance, inclusivity and respect around the world.’

The Magdelen College Cunts Club want the portrait removed as “it may make some feel ‘unwelcome’ because she ‘represents recent colonial history'”.

Members of the Middle Common Room (MCR) at Magdalen College – which is made up of graduates – passed the measure by a substantial majority, with one student commenting that ‘patriotism and colonialism are not really separable’. Neither, it seems, are higher education and gross stupidity.

The committee will now consider options for replacing the portrait with ‘art by or of other influential and inspirational people’ and subject any future depictions of the Royal Family to a vote. What;s the betting they replace Her Maj. with a picture of some black, gay or lesbian, far left extremist nobody has ever heard of?

The MCR said the painting was being taken down to create ‘a welcoming, neutral place for all members regardless of background, demographic, or views’.

The decision sparked an immediate backlash on Twitter, with the president of Magdalen College swiftly moving to distance the institution itself from the students involved.

The BBC is in crisis. Putting aside the current lull in TV production due to COVID-19 there is a lot going wrong with the state funded broadcaster, argues Ben Smith.

In addition to the network’s declining reputation regarding its questionable and biased news reporting, the BBC is feverishly pursuing an increasingly woke culture in regards to its TV shows and the casting thereof. Talent agencies and actors in the UK are faced with the worrying trend of forced diversity that doesn’t just go after new shows but also criticised existing shows like Luther. Apparently Idris Elba isn’t authentically black enough. Who knew?

Like any other network the BBC wants, and indeed needs, fresh original content. However, it appears that besides the always well received period pieces, the BBC is focusing on content that ‘matters’. What does that mean? Well, you guessed it; it means shows that are about minorities, social issues, race, class, gender etc. A good story? Yesterday we reported on a speech made by Transport Secretary Liz Truss in which she attacked the ‘woke’ agenda of far left policies on race and multicuklturalism, climate and environment, immigration and minorities, free speech and gender issues and said the government must defend ‘conservative values.’ Speaking to The centre For Policy Studies, Truss gave the impression that she was laying down a challenge to Boris Johnson’s weak leadership and conversion from his libertarian instincts to politically correct positions on most controversial issues.

Many people suggest this move to leftist authoritarian positions is due to the influence of the Prime Minister’s laughably ‘woke girlfriend Carrie (Miss Piggy) Symonds but this blog, because we like to float outrageous conspiracy theories sometimes, has speculated that boris was somehow given a brain transplant while in a medically induced coma while allegeldly suffering from COVID-19 early this year.

Professor Greg Patton of the University of Southern California was removed from his post for the horrendous crime of teaching his students a simple Chinese word.

While teaching a communications lecture he spoke of how different cultures use different ‘fillers’ words. In English we use “um”, “uh”, “y’know” etc. He then mentioned that in China they commonly use “na-ge” which translates into “that”.

Footage of his lecture, which has now gone viral, shows Prof Patton saying: “In China, the common pause word is ‘that, that, that’. So in China, it might be na-ge, na-ge, na-ge.”

Enunciated, na-ge sounds like the N-word.

Predictably the more emotionally fragile students (i.e. an overwhelming majority of them, students got their knickers in a right old twist over this use of not – the – N – word and decided the chinese word “na ge” sounded too much like the dreaded “n-word” to be allowed on campus.

The incident led several of the professor’s snowflake students to go into meltdown and complain to the university authorities. The university, of course, immediately capitulated and convinced Patton to step down. Commenting on the complaint, the university’s dean, Geoffrey Garrett displayed a total lack of testicular fortitude when instead of telling the whining students, “Grow the fuck up you snivelling ninnies he instead announced that Prof Patton would no longer be teaching the course.

The university then released this statement: “It is simply unacceptable for the faculty to use words in class that can marginalize, hurt and harm the psychological safety of our students.”

Sharp readers will have noted that Prof. Patton did not use a word that “can marginalise, hurt and harm the psychological safety” of snowflakes, when he used not-the-N-word he did so after first explaining that it was a word from a foreign language and putting it in context. If he had used the word Hakui, there might have been some justification in the complaint.

In the circumstances however, there is not really a problem, during a lecture on communication, a professor explained how the Chinese use a particular Chinese word that some students decided sounded like an English word they find offensive, and got the professor sacked.

Scottish University Will Rename David Hume Tower After George Floyd

The University of Edinburgh in Scotland announced that it would rename a university building after George Floyd on Thursday. The Hume Tower was previously named after Scottish Enlightenment philosopher David Hume, who is thought of as a notable classical liberal political philosopher.

The Hume Tower will now be known as 40 George Floyd. For a long time I believed that to be accepted by the ‘liberal’ left, that mix of authoritarian socialists, quasi – religious atheists and racist progressives these days one had to be either insane or retarded. However, the past few months have taught me that to be accepted into the cohorts of the ‘woke’ it is necessary to be both insane AND retarded.

One of the ideas straight out of George Orwell’s dystopian novel “1984” that proves my point is the “woke” culture’s embracing of an idea created by the Big Brother rergime that the novelist calls Newspeak. This is a policy of limiting language in a way which makes the expression of dissent from Big Brother’s dictum impossible. Words that can be used to describe ideas or criticism of the regime are banned and non conformity is enforced by The Thought Police whose technology which, though described in ways that seem clunky to us (1984 was written in the years immediately after World War 2,) accurately predict the technological surveillance now operated by governments in collaboration with Silicon Valley tech giants through internet technologies.

And we have observed how the “woke” generation and their cancel culture have been proscribing certain words and banning certain topics in order to suppress discussion and critisism of their ideas. No surprise then that the latest nonsense to emerge from that festering sewer of ‘progressive’ idea, the university system is an attack on spelling and grammar, which if suggessful would rob language of nuance and subtlety and render everything we read as wooden and devoid of expression as the text of a Bill Gates speech.

A full stop, or period as America has it, ending a sentence, is a sign of ‘aggression’ to the hyper-sensitive generation raised with cell phone in hand, according to linguists working in the university system’s linguistics community who would presumably prefer we communicate icons and emojis.

Ending a message with a stop has come to “signify an abrupt or angry tone of voice” to Generation Z, some linguists claim, arguing that in the era of ubiquitous texting and instant messaging, full stops are no longer necessary to merely indicate the end of a sentence. Which is utter bollocks of course because text messages are an abbreviated form that does not use properly constructed sentences.

An idea’s conclusion is implied by the end of the message, they insist (because nobody communicates in more than one sentence at a time anymore, apparently – you just hit ‘send’ and start a new message). When full stops are used, they’re supposedly interpreted as “ominous” or emotionally charged by the hyper-sensitive young people reading the message.

Well that’s fine for the illeterate fuckwits spewed out by modern universities, but some of us still like to READ long texts. Novels, biographies, books on history, travel, science and philosophy. Try writing that sort of thing when you have to replace grammar and punctuation with signifiers of emotions and see how far you get.

The full stop’s use is being “revised in a really fundamental way,” Professor David Crystal, billed by the UK Telegraph as “one of the world’s leading language experts,”alleges. It’s no longer about ending a sentence but about an “emotion marker,” he says. This is even “backed up by science” – a 2015 Binghamton University study found college students perceive text messages ending in a full stop as being “less sincere” than those without one.

Well we all knew modern students are infantile idiots but I suppose information like that strengthens the case.

The University of Washington issued a statement back in 2017 cautioning professors against expecting perfect spelling from their students, declaring“there is no inherent ‘standard’ of English.” Maybe at the coming elections the good people of washington State and it’s largest city, Seattle, could vote to defund the university.

We’re still a few years out from Orwell’s Newspeak, which used an ever-dwindling vocabulary to control thought (although with dictionaries hastily redefining words from ‘racism’ to ‘woman’, it may be closer than we think), but the incoherent Babel that would result if every social group – racial, ethnic, age, gender, and so on – had its own rules of speaking and writing what is supposedly the same language is a very real threat. Report: Iowa University Instructor Issues Warning That Not Supporting BLM Is ‘Grounds For Dismissal’

An Iowa State University instructor has issued a warning to students that if they express opinion that isn’t in line with support for Black Lives Matter protesters, or if they hold pro-life opinions they could be dismissed from the institution.

“No arguments against gay marriage, abortion, Black Lives Matter, etc.”

The Young America’s Foundation (YAF) raised a red flag over the warning on a syllabus by Chloe Clark, in which she wrote “Any instances of othering that you participate in intentionally (racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, sorophobia, transphobia, classism, mocking of mental health issues, body shaming, etc.) in class are grounds for dismissal from the classroom.”

Clark added “The same goes for any papers/projects. You cannot choose any topic that takes at its base that one side doesn’t deserve the same basic human rights as you do (i.e. no arguments against gay marriage, abortion, Black Lives Matter, etc.)”

The Daily Caller notes that the YAF was alerted to the warning through its Campus Bias Tip Line.

When contacted by the Daily Caller, the university said that Clark’s syllabus warning is “inconsistent with the university’s standards and its commitment to the First Amendment rights of students.”

A statement by the University noted that “After reviewing this issue with the faculty member, the syllabus has been corrected to ensure it is consistent with university policy,”

“Moreover, the faculty member is being provided additional information regarding the First Amendment policies of the University,” it added.

“It is alarming that a faculty member would think openly declaring her intent to silence dissent is in line with the practice of education or the Constitution,” YAF spokesperson Spencer Brown told the Daily Caller.

The development is part of a trend of the erosion of freedom of expression and opinion on campuses.

Indeed, a recent survey conducted by College Fix found that a majority of conservative students say they ‘self censor’ around others so as not to offend or upset leftists.

“With the current political climate, do you expect to self-censor yourself in class this semester so your professors or peers don’t take offense at your ideas?” the survey asked.

A total of 54 percent of conservatives said they would indeed keep their political views to themselves for this reason.

On the flip side, only 15% of those who identified as Democrats said they would temper their political opinions so as not to cause friction.

A survey conducted last year also found that almost three quarters of conservative students say they are withholding their political views both in class and from their written work for fear that they will be downgraded by leftist professors.

The idea of free speech and freedom of expression has become so warped on campuses that leftist college students believe it’s their ‘right’ to deny others their First Amendment.

Students who have publicly professed conservative opinions have been subjected to investigation and punishment by professors and college officials.

In addition, black and native American students at several colleges and universities are increasingly demanding action against professors and academics who have expressed opinions not directly in line with their own.

Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia is to mandate that all of its students take a “Race and Ethnicity Requirement” course from next year, following consistent demands from the university’s black student group.

A senior researcher at Michigan State University was effectively fired after sharing facts from a study conducted last year that conclusively proved there is no widespread racial bias in police shootings.

At Loyola University New Orleans, students demanded the firing of professor Walter Block over his opinions on slavery, even though he vehemently opposes it.

At UCLA, a professor was suspended for rejecting requests to allow black students to take final exams at a later date as a response to the death of George Floyd and black lives matter protests. Accounting lecturer Gordon Klein was punished for saying that students should not be treated differently according to the colour of their skin.

Meanwhile, other academics have been lauded and rewarded for promoting opinions in line with the woke mob that even Twitter removed for being hateful.
