Lessons In Liberty For Liberal and Socialist Nazis

I get sickened, as I’m sure many of you do, by the self righteous, bigoted posturings of those who identify themselves as ‘liberal’, ‘left wing’, progressive or socialism and yet see nothing contradictory in their calling for the abolition of free speech, the return of censorship and the proscription of certain words or opinions.

Perhaps these liberal fascists find John Stuart Mill’s ideas are more dangerous and subversive that even his contemporaries thought.

Was Mill really so far ahead of his time we have not yet caught up, or do our ‘progressive liberal’ friends want to progress all they way back to the medieval liberalism of The Inquisition, when the elite were at liberty to do WTF they liked because the masses were considered subhuman?

If it is the latter, Mill’s treatise On Liberty (1859) contains some truly revolutionary statements such as: ‘If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.’

Everyone allowed their own opinion? He was probably drunk when he wrote that bit.

When Labour elected Ed Miliband as their leader in 2010 it was clear the party had a death wish. Then came feminism, politically correct thinking, New Labour factions as the party started to tear itself apart. It looks as if we are in the endgame.

  1. Ian,

Fraid so. Though these elites will have a zillion eyes and ears . . And these elites take a very dim view of our subspecies’ . . abundance, to put it delicately.

Now, you know who exactly I think our new Inquisitors will be working for, but from what I can see on just the worldly/material levels, it’s gonna be kinda like Monty Python style medieval . . without the funny.
