The following is a mea culpa from prominent climate activist and environmental leader Michael Shellenberger, a Time Magazine ‘Hero of the Environment’ (pictured).
On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologize for the climate scare we created over the last 30 years. Climate change is happening.
It’s just not the end of the world. It’s not even our most serious environmental problem.
I may seem like a strange person to be saying all of this. I have been a climate activist for 20 years and an environmentalist for 30.
But as an energy expert asked by Congress to provide objective expert testimony, and invited by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to serve as an Expert Reviewer of its next Assessment Report, I feel an obligation to apologize for how badly we environmentalists have misled the public … Continue reading >>>
Extinction Rebellion Wants To Destroy Civilization, Not Just Fossil Fuels
Readers may find it hard to believe but while our attention has been focused on the coronavirus pandemic, other things have been happening. Recently the eco – crusties of EkSTIMKtion Rebellion have elbowed their way back into out consciousness and now, with Antifa and Black Lives Matter, form an unholy trinity of Marxist seditionist groups intent not only on destroying capitalism but destroying civilisation …
Amid all the huff and puff about wind farms and the moonshine about solar power, this blog, while deeply sceptical of Carbon Dioxide driven climate change has always said if there is a need to move to clean technologies for generating electricity, nuclear was the only viable solution.
Nuclear power has of course faced implacable opposition from the Green Blob, whose opposition to anything with any chance of reducing CO2 emissions without destroying western civilization has blocked progress on nuclear, tide power, wave power and river barrages (sorry, can’t raise the river level a couple of inches, the mud flats are a habitat for two toed toads.”)
So where do we go now? Here’s one idea guaranteed to enrage the Green Blob. For that reason alone it must be worthy of consideration.

Rolls-Royce has announced that it plans to build, install, and operate up to 15 mini nuclear reactors in Britain, with the first set to go online in nine years. In a BBC Radio 4 interview with business journalist Katie Prescott on January 24, 2020’s Today program, Paul Stein, chief technology officer for Rolls-Royce, said that the company is leading a consortium to produce factory-built modular nuclear reactors that can be delivered for assembly by ordinary lorries.
Currently, the world is undergoing a boom in nuclear power. According to the World Nuclear Association, there are 448 operating civilian reactors and another 53 under construction. However, almost all of these are being built in Eastern Europe and Asia, with China alone building more reactors than the entire Western world combined.
Part of the reason for this is political with every reactor program in Europe or North America facing implacable environmentalist opposition and part of it is the expense of building and operating large reactors in an energy economy now dominated by cheap natural gas. However, one technology trend that could reverse this stagnation is the development of small, modular nuclear reactors that could be mass-produced in factories, carted to the site by ordinary lorries, and then assembled to generate cheap carbon-free electricity.
This approach, too, has its drawbacks, but Rolls-Royce believes that its consortium has got its sums right and can restart Britain’s nuclear industry by building up to 15 Small Modular Reactors (SMR) with an expected value to the UK economy of £52 billion (US$68 billion), another £250 billion (US$327 billion) in exports, and 40,000 new jobs by 2050.
Each power station is projected to have a service life of 60 years and generate 440 MW of electricity, or enough to power a city the size of Leeds. The estimated cost of the electricity generated is £60 (US$78) per MWh.
“Our plan is to get energy on the grid in 2029,” Prescott told the BBC. “The obvious sites to put them are what we call brown-field sites – sites where we’re running elderly or decommissioned nuclear power stations. There are two sites in Wales and one in the northwest of England. Eventually in the UK, we’ll be rolling out 10 to 15. We’re also looking to a significant export market. In fact, the current estimate for the export market for SMRs is £250 billion, so this could be a huge industry.”
According to a previous press release from Rolls-Royce, the British government has already promised £18 million in matching funds, or about half the present costs of the endeavor, with the consortium partners providing the rest. Prescott says that the advantage of the Rolls-Royce plan is that it doesn’t involve building a whole new reactor, as other companies have tried to do, but rather to adapt a present design. In addition, the reactors will be built along manufacturing lines rather than civil construction, which the company claims will drive down costs rather than inflating them.
Is Hatred Of Greta Thunberg Justified?
As the backlash against the Greta Thunberg cult gathers momentum a lot of lefties are asking why the little Climate Warriorette is so hated by so many people. As usual with the left, they are asking the wrong question. Just as they asked, “Why can’t you believe the scientists, when in fact not only is it always legitimate (and scientific,) to question and challenge scientific theory, so it is perfectly rational and logical to challenge the Cult of Saint Greta ….
Why Are The World Government Schemes, Agenda 21 and Agends 30 blanked by big media?
Since the early days on the old blog.co.uk platform we have from time to time raised the issues of Agenda 21 and Agenda 30, The New World Order, and the push for a global, authoritarian, socialist government. Any mention of these things in online forums is certain to get the author accused of being a conspiracy theorist, a right wing extremist, a nutcase, a young earth creationist and much worse.
Greta Thunberg Slams Australia for Coal Industry, Expands List of Climate Demands
Little Greta Thunberg, who was elected by nobody apparently now speaks for us all on matters relating to climate change. The Swedish climate change hustler who is making a fortune for her handlers from donations to her campaign, again castigated Australia for continuing to mine and export coal despite her previous complaints, adding a call for an end worldwide to the actibity to her list of climate demands to be delivered at the upcoming World Economic Forum in Davos …
Picture: Kevin Freyer, Getty
lying leftie paskudnyaks clean, green, save the planet machine and the worshippers of Greta Thunberg are always eager to tell us that China is the world’s biggest investor in sustainable energy and has more wind turnbines installed than any other nation on earth. It is the worst kind of lie because it is true, but only tells half the story. And someytimes being told half the story creates completely the wrong impression in the mind of the audience.
In this case the weirdie bearies and tree shaggers are giving the impression that by trashing our economies in the west, trying to meet unrealistic targets for eliminating carbon emissions we are being good global citizens, while by pointing out the stupidity of such ambitions shows we are evil capitalist sociopaths intent on destroying the planet.
So what is the full story?
While it is true that China has installed huge numbers of wind turbines, this is nothing to do with cleaning up the environment. China is installing wind turbines because then need electricity, end of story. At the same time China is planning to massively increase its coal-fired energy production. This makes a nonsense of claims by gullible Western politicians and dishonest environmental activists that China is as keen as anyone to do its bit to ‘combat climate change.’ by reducing CO2 emissions.
A report from Bloomberg reveals that China now has enough coal-fired generating plants in the various stages of planning and construction to match the entire capacity of the European Union, and that’s on top the ones they already have up and running. So much for doing their but to clean up the environment and show support for the movement against highly polluting fossil fuel.’
Bloomberg tells us:
“The nation has almost 148 gigawatts of coal-fired capacity under active construction or likely to be resumed after being suspended, Global Energy Monitor, a non-profit group that tracks coal stations, said in the press release Thursday based on plant-by-plant data. That’s almost equivalent to 150 gigawatts of existing coal fleet capacity in the EU and more than the combined 105 gigawatts under construction in the rest of the world, it said.”
China’s plans contrat with those of many other countries, including France’s goal of being a zero carbon economy by 2040 and the U.K.’s pledge to close all coal plants by 2025, (both of which cannot be achieved without irreversible damage to the economies of those countries. Beijing remains committed to coal as its biggest and cheapest source of electrical power, and also to sidelining the developed economies and achieving global economic hegemony. In effect The People’s Republic has thrown down a major challenge to global emissions reduction targets. Its additions in the 18 months to June dwarf declines elsewhere in the world, according to the report. Meanwhile western leaders are intent on taking orders from the Sewedish baby troll and destroying civilisation, all are so firmly committed to helping China’s world domination bid carbon free economies with the exception of Donald Trump who doesn’t seem to be committed to anything except making The Democrats look stupid.
None of this is news to climate realists, I have been warning for ten years that China was rapidly expanding coal fuelled energy generation while western leaders were talking about returning to medieval technologies like windmills. One of the main arguments put by climate change sceptics against concerted government action by the West to decarbonise its economies is that it takes no account of emerging economies like Nigeria’s, Pakistan’s Indonesia’s, India’s and, especially, China’s. Any attempts to cut carbon dioxide production in Western economies are more than offset by the growth in China’s CO2 output alone. And China’s is matched by the others mentioned.
This latest development was predicted in a report published last year by the Global Warming Policy Foundation.
by <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-49567197"Matt McGrath, BBC.co.uk
It’s the most powerful greenhouse gas known to humanity, and emissions have risen rapidly in recent years, the BBC has learned.
Sulphur hexafluoride, or SF6, is widely used in the electrical industry to prevent short circuits and accidents.
But leaks of the little-known gas in the UK and the rest of the EU in 2017 were the equivalent of putting an extra 1.3 million cars on the road.
Levels are rising as an unintended consequence of the green energy boom. Cheap and non-flammable, SF6 is a colourless, odourless, synthetic gas. It makes a hugely effective insulating material for medium and high-voltage electrical installations. It is widely used across the industry, from large power stations to wind turbines to electrical sub-stations in towns and cities. It prevents electrical accidents and fires.
So why are we using more of this powerful warming gas? The way we make electricity around the world is changing rapidly. Where once large coal-fired power stations brought energy to millions, the drive to combat climate change means they are now being replaced by mixed sources of power including wind, solar and gas.
This has resulted in many more connections to the electricity grid, and a rise in the number of electrical switches and circuit breakers that are needed to prevent serious accidents. Collectively, these safety devices are called switchgear. The vast majority use SF6 gas to quench arcs and stop short circuits.
Lovely thing, irony, isn’it?
The next big thing in technology, the must – have for every self disrespecting, crowd following, narrative believing hipster is 5G wireless technology, from cellphone networks to your home Wi – Fi, we are told that everything will be so much better if we go 5G. And once again the scienetits and technology nerds of Silicon Valley are pushing a technology on us that is known to have detrimental effects on human health. You’ve heard of Fukushima, Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, three of the most notorious accidents in the short history of nuclear technology? The problems resulting from them was caused by leaked radio active energy, or radiation. And the radiation from your wi – fi router, cellphone, laptop, any wireless technology including the microwave oven is the same as that emitted from those nuclear power disasters, just many degrees of magnitude less powerful.
The problem is radiation damages not by the strength of what you are exposed to, but by the strength multiplied by the duration (that’s a gross oversimilification but it will do for now). When I worked in the nuclear industry in the 1980s the physicists talked jokingly of the banana equivalent dose – i.e. how much radiation to which you would have to be exposed to equal the amount absorbed from eating a banana a day for a year (bananas are the most radio active of fruits due to the type of potassium atoms they contain,) The energy of 5G networks is many times more intense than 4G and this is concerning many scientists. And they are right to be concerned because not only is 5G more intense than previous wireless technologies, it is planned to be right in our homes, around us every day as the Silicon valley control freaks roll out the ‘Internet Of Things’ so they can spy on you not just through your smartphone and computer by through yout TV, cooker, fridge and, bugger me with a bargepoole, even through your internet enabled toilet.
Shouldn’t we be asking a lot of very difficult questions about this technology?

A private jet stands ready to take its payload of a few VIPs off round the world.
Standing atop a massive pile of money, the elitist looks down angrily at the poor man who merely asks for a pay raise.
In his gas-guzzling private jet, the elitist travels half way around the world to angrily tell the poor man to use less energy:- The Gurning Grandad from Grimsby
Every year leading figures from business, politics and entertainment gather at the World Economic Forum to discuss the world’s most pressing problems. This year’s theme is “Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.
The summit itself is a meeting of the global experts and influencers from politics to business, culture and the media. During the week these elite will meet and discuss a range of topics, including the economy, climate change and international relations.
The WEF’s, a bunch of paternalistic neo-liberals like to pretend they are safeguarding the interests of the planet when really all they are interested in is looking after the interests of corporate business and the global elite. Thus their Global Risk Report for 2019 revealed that environmental crises, such as failures to tackle climate change, “are among the likeliest and highest-impact risk that the world faces over the next decade”.
Founder and chief executive of the WEF Klaus Schwab, said it was “humanity’s most existential challenge” and that it “requires urgent global action”. He wrote: “Never has science been clearer in its concern about the risks of climate change and the stress this places on our oceans and other vital ecosystems, including tropical forests and freshwater sources.
“Yet our response to melting glaciers is glacial. While solutions increasingly exist, especially in the energy sector, there is as yet no movement on global action commensurate to the challenge.” Perhaps he thinks we have not noticed that all the solutions the elites amd their pet ‘experts’ have so far proposed involve the working and middle classes sacrificing our lifestyles and pating punitive ‘green’ taxes which are used to fund ‘green’ projects that boost corporate profits and shovel our tax money into the coffers of businesses and the landowners who have put wind farms and solar farms on their property in order to scoop up the subsidies for ‘sustainable’ power that the ‘green’ taxes and levies on our fuel bills fund.
When he says “our response to melting glaciers is glacial,” there is no intended irony in his words, he cannot be unaware that an anticipated 1,500 private jets will descend on Davos and nearby airports in Switzerland this week as the international financial and political elite gathers to talk about how to deal with global climate challenges by making us punters reduce our carbon footprint.
That number is an increase on the estimated 1,300 aircraft movements seen at last year’s forum, despite climate change registering as the top risk factor identified for the global economy then as well. In a survey of World Economic Forum (WEF) movers and shakers last week all placed the need to reduce carbon emissions highly among their priorities, yet none travelled by train and few by commercial airline.
Sir David Attenborough, a lead speaker this year, has already stated that climate is the issue of our time. The veteran broadcaster, 92, used his acceptance speech to tell business leaders and governments to come up with “practical solutions”. Speaking at the beginning of the forum on Monday, the Blue Planet and Dynasties narrator told the crowd he is “quite literally from another age” and warned of “man-made disaster of global scale” that lies ahead.
Were Attenborough have serious about his pleas for the environment, he ought to have used his platform to condemn events like the WEF, the United Nations Climate Conferences, G7 and G20 economic summits and so on. Industry group Air Charter Service calculated the private jet flights over the week, as delegates fly in to hear the likes of Attenborough speak at an event boasting a basic entry ticket price of U.S.$60,000 – per person. Around 3,000 participants are expected for the 2019 edition of the WEF.
Andy Christie, Private Jets Director at ACS, told the Guardian how the numbers are determined: “Davos doesn’t have its own airfield and, whilst we have several clients who fly into the town by helicopter, the four main airfields that private jet users attending the forum use are Zürich, Dübendorf, St. Gallen-Altenrhein and St. Moritz.
Working with WingX, we looked at private jet activity at those airports over the six days of each WEF week since 2013 – from one day before the event to one day after. Last year was the busiest year for private jets so far, showing an 11% increase on 2017, with more than 1,300 aircraft movements. If we see a similar increase this year, we could be looking at almost 1,500 aircraft movements over the six days.
Countries with the most arrivals and departures over the past five years at Davos are Germany, France, the UK, U.S., Russia, and UAE, respectively.”
Demand for private jets far outstrips other events that also loom large on the private aviation calendar, such as the Super Bowl or Champions’ League final, according to Mr. Christie.
“We have had bookings from as far as our operations in Hong Kong, India and the US ?- no other event has the same global appeal,” he said in a statement.
No wonder, those 3000 paying punters will be accompanied by their entourages, persdonal assistants, PR consultants, technical advisers and other people employed solely to make their bosses feel important. And the trend is towards even more expensive, larger private jets such as the Gulfstream GV and Bombardier’s Global Express. This may be in part due the long distances travelled, but according to aircraft industry sources is mainly due to business people not wanting to be outdone by rivals.
A couple of weeks before the turn of the year I wrote a comment under an article singing the praises of electric and hybrid cars, the usual ‘clean, green, sustainable, transport of the fuutre spiel. Now I did not get into the usual criticisms, poor range, length of time to recharge, massive upgrades to the electricity distribution system to support ‘fast chargers’ which are still painfully slow compared with pumps that pump liquid. Nor did I point out the technical problems that will beset these vehicles when they start to be used outside towns and away from the coastal strip. In short, they don’t do hills. OK I know some plank is going to say “Ah but regenerative braking systems mean they generate electricity when going down hills,” and OK that is true, but what is generated going down is a tiny fraction of what is used to haul car, driver, passengers and battery pack up.
Instead of all that I settled for pointing out that as well as electricity which is mostly generated by coal, other finite resources are essential to the manufacture of these electric vehicles which some stupid politicians say will totally replace fossil fuelled cars and trucks by 2040, (yes I might be talking about you Monsieur Macron you idiot, or you Mr. Treudeau, you plonker.) There are currently an estimated 1.4 billion cars and light goods vehicles on the roads of our planet, and there is not enough lithium in reserve stocks to make battery packs for a tenth of that number. And then there is cobalt, needed in far smaller quantities but a far less plentiful resource and most of the known reserves are controlled by China. And if they dominate the market in a resource the west needs they ain’t going to be giving the stuff away.
Naturally I was mocked and ridiculed for going against the official narrative that electric will smoothly replace gasoline over the next couple of decades. Fortunately I don’t take any more notice of the voices that bounce around the liberal echo chamber of the internet than I do of politicians who are trying to buy your vote so they can use it in the cause of enriching their paymasters, or of mainstream media, where the propaganda of the establishment is endlessly parroted.
It was of course gratifying to learn that people who matter agree with me. Today the Financial Times welcomed the New Year with a report that Erik Prince, the founder of Blackwater, the private security giant intends to launch a $500m investment fund to capitalize on the rush to secure investments in the metals required for batteries that power electric cars.
Cobalt mining in Congo, child labour is common and slave labour possible (western companies contract out work to local agents,), workers rights and safety regulations are non existent. (Source: http://www.trwn.org/wp-content/ )
Prince, an adviser to president Trump and brother of White House official Betsy DeVos told the FT, “For all the talk of our virtual world, the innovation, you can’t build those vehicles without minerals that come from generally weird, hard-to-access places.”
He’s correct of course, and the more the world comes to rely on electronic technology, particularly mobile technologies, the more competition there will be for these finite resources. As I wrote back in 2010, for years due to pressure from the greeny – weeny, weirdie – beardie faction, because the mining and refining of these rare earth metals is a filthy and energy intensive process, the developed nations have been handing control of such vital resources to nations with are not exactly friendly to our governments or way of life.
Mining companies in China, Russia, India, Brazil and Australia have been investing billions into these essential metals as the electric vehicle industry expands, which include cobalt, neodymium, gold, tellurium and terbium as well as copper and lithium.
One of the largest investors has been China, with Chinese companies buying stakes in deposits in the Democratic Republic of Congo and in Chile this year. Mr Prince also runs a Hong Kong-listed security and logistics company that is backed by China’s state-owned Citic Group. –Financial Times
Prince’s new fund will operate in exploration and securing rights to as yet unknown deposits before selling them on to larger mining companies, and, Prince told the FT, will be looking to cash in its investments and devote the revenue to new projects within four or five years. his experience in providing private armies to secure assets in well known trouble spots should prove invaluable.
It is well known that Chinese companies have little interest in speculative exploration, which leads Prince believe creates a gap in the supply chain he hopes to fill.”
More than 60 percent for the world’s cobalt supply originates from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a nation plagues by tribal and political conflicts which has scared off western investment and has opened the door for Chinese companies including Jinchuan Group and China Molybdenum to pour billions into developing the sites. Apart from high altitude salt lakes in Chile, the onlt other known area from which lithium is easily extractable is Afghanistan, not the easiest place for foreign interests to operate.
Prince first came to public attention as the founder of Blackwater – the world’s most famous private military contractor which has been targeted with lawsuits alleging civilian deaths in Iraq, including a 2007 incident in Nisour Square, Baghdad, where 17 civilians were killed and 20 injured after Blackwater guards claim their convoy was ambushed. And FBI investigation concluded that at least 14 of the 17 Iraqis were shot without cause.
Since selling Backwater in 2010, Prince has been at the helm of Frontier Services Group, which provides logistics support and security services to companies operating in politically unstable countries. They have provided anti-piracy operations to Somalia and security for oil companies operating in strife – torn South Sudan. Prince himself is a former US Navy SEAL, now resident in Abu Dhabi, his long established business links with China will certainly give him a head start in this new venture. A bauxite (aluminium ore,) mine in Guinea this year secured a contract to supply Chinese state – owned aluminium smelter with ore.

Those discredited jokers, gropers and fake scientists of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) have surpassed themselves in the idiocy stakes in their latest Summary for Policy Makers. It is just a rehashed version of the farrago of adjusted data, dubious science, wailing and gnashing of teeth and eco-fascistic edicts on how we shall all live our lives in the future.
Here are a few of the main points:
Sea levels are rising. (As they have been, by the way, at the same harmless pace, for centuries),
The crisis is so dire that even if all the countries stick to their Paris Accord commitments, it still won’t be enough to stop the planet heating by 2 degrees C or more.
Drastic lifestyle changes must be made, drastic carbon emissions cuts must be implemented to stave off further disaster,(no mention of how many of the thirty – something thousand delegates to the Paris climate conference turned up in private jets, oh no, us ordinary punters must change OUR lifestyles but the elites must live ever more lavishly, in order that they may be at their best when dealing with the onerous tasks involved in saving the planet.)
$2.4 trillion must be spent by 2035 on sustainable energy projects such as wind and solar
, (even though these ‘sustainable’ sources have failed to prove they can supply the baseload required by modern, developed societies.)
Climate-related risks to health, livelihoods, food security, water supply, human security, and economic growth are projected to increase as the planet warms
Vector borne diseases such as malaria and dengue fever will likely increase
You can read a Summary For Policy Makers of the IPCC report, published by the IPCC. If you’re a sucker for punishment just click the link. It covers all the points I’ve referred to but the prose style doesn’t make for good bedtime reading.
Using the comparision to a religious cult favoured by many of us Warmageddon sceptics, Benny Peiser of the Global Warming Policy Foundation describes the latest science fantasy publication as the IPCC’s “Hail Mary”: its last, desperate shot at trying to scare a world which just doesn’t care any more. He’s right. None of the predictions made by the Warmageddonist lobby over the past twenty years have been correct. Snow is not a folk memory, the arctic sea ice has not disappeared, the predicted 50 million refugees displaced by rising sea levels must be wearing Harry Potter’s cloak of invisibility.
The reason people no longer believe the “last chance to save the planet” bollocks is first, we’ve heard it many times before, second, it hasn’t been supported by real-world evidence and thirdly because thanks to the internet and free speech (which governments, aided and abetted by Google and Facebook, want to abolish,) we have access to all the scientific research projects conducted by diligent researchers according to the scientific method (i.e. no adjusted data,) and these reports make sense.
Take that tired old line on vector borne diseases. Anyone who has followed this saga or researched it thoroughly knows that this claim was debunked years ago by an expert epidemiologist, Paul Reiter.
As far back as 1998, just as the hysteria was starting to rev up, Reiter delivered a lecture on this subject to the Cooler Heads Coalition:
All attempts to link specific recent outbreaks to climate change cannot survive a confrontation with the facts. In all cases, local conditions (such as the banning of DDT, land use changes, or foreign contact) account for expansions of disease vectors or increases in infection rates.
Yet here is the IPCC, trotting out the same old scare stories as if no one’s paying attention.
What is new, or new-ish, is the IPCC’s overdue acknowledgement that the Paris Climate Accord was a failure. What would be really meaningful is if the IPCC would admit that its attempts to push the globalist agenda by creating a big scary monster have failed.
Meanwhile an independent (and not nearly so enthusiastically reported by mainstream media) audit of the key temperature dataset used by climate models has exposed more than 70 problems with the data which render it “unfit for global studies.” It’s worth reminding warmageddonists, who tend to have short memories, that all the projections and predictions made by “climate scientists” to date have been based on output from ;mathematical models’ of the climate rather than empirical observation.
The problems identified in the data include zero degree temperatures in the Caribbean, 82 degree C temperatures in Colombia and ship-based recordings taken 100km inland.
The audit concluded that the people running these mathematical models are deliberately exaggerating temperatures to support a theory of global warming utilizing global averages that point to very different outcomes to what is being forecast after the data has been adjusted.
The investigation has discovered (not really, all thinking people have known for years what was going on,) that “that climate models have been tweaked to produce results favourable to supporters of global government, and scientists double down on that cheat by feeding the computers with incorrect (aka ‘adjusted’) data, which renders their projections of future temperatures and the influence of human activity on climate meaningless. It also points out The Paris Climate Agreement’s adoption of 1850-1899 averages as “indicative” of pre-industrial temperatures is “fatally flawed.” The entire Paris Climate Agreement has an agenda to eliminate effectively the advancement of society and attempt to reset the clock to the pre-Industrial Revolution. This entire theory that before the Industrial Revolution, our planet’s atmosphere was somehow pristine and uncontaminated by human-made pollutants has been also proven to be completely bogus with archaeological finds showing human activity was affecting the environment 2000 years ago.
An indication that rather than simple scientific concern for the environment, there is a rather unpleasant and authoritarian political agenda at work in the warmageddonist agenda is revealed in the IPCC reports recommendation that we should all eat less meat and propaganda should be employed to nudge everybody towards a vegetarian or vegan diet. Now there are plenty of conservative vegetarians, it is not just a left wing thing, but for the left everything is political thus vegetarianism cannot be a matter of individual choice, it has to be made a political issue.
According to a report in The Guardian:
Avoiding meat and dairy products is the single biggest way to reduce your environmental impact on the planet, according to the scientists behind the most comprehensive analysis to date of the damage farming does to the planet.
The new research shows that without meat and dairy consumption, global farmland use could be reduced by more than 75% – an area equivalent to the US, China, European Union and Australia combined – and still feed the world. Loss of wild areas to agriculture is the leading cause of the current mass extinction of wildlife.
The new analysis shows that while meat and dairy provide just 18% of calories and 37% of protein, it uses the vast majority – 83% – of farmland and produces 60% of agriculture’s greenhouse gas emissions. Other recent research shows 86% of all land mammals are now livestock or humans. The scientists also found that even the very lowest impact meat and dairy products still cause much more environmental harm than the least sustainable vegetable and cereal growing.
Like all the statistics quoted by the Warmageddonist cult, figures cited in The Guardian’s report should be taken with a pinch of salt. 86% of all land mannals???? Does anybody know how many rats populate the sewers and dumps of the world’s cities, or how many monkeys there are in the Brazilian rain forest? Does anybody really know who many squirrels live in the vast woodlands of northern USA and Canada. Can anybody honestly say they have counted all the vast herds of Caribou in northern Scandinavia and Siberia? The probems of arriving at a reasonable estimate of how many small mammals inhabit the vast landscapes of Africa and Asia are insurmountable.
The new audit of climate data and scientific methods also argues that even the most simple basic quality checks have not been done on the HadCRUT4 dataset, which is managed by the UK Met Office Hadley Centre and the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia. The audit exposed that estimates (guesses,) were made to cover uncertainties arising from thermometer accuracy, homogenization, sampling grid boxes with a finite number of measurements available, large-scale biases such as urbanization and estimation of regional averages with non-complete global measurement coverage.
Some have described this politicisation of climate science as a front in the elite’s war on the middle class: Remember the late Maurice Strong? In 1992 this Cultural Marxist activist and proponent of global government was the chair of the UN’s World Commission on Environmental Development (also among the world’s biggest crooks – remember the “food for oil” scam?) said that the middle class lifestyle was unsustainable, and then went on to list a whole series of items that were not sustainable including eating meat…watch this video as 13 mins 45 seconds for the quote.
Strong’s career was quite amazing, from a lowly oil company bureaucrat from a poor background, he grabbed an opportunity to work for The United Nations and while there saw that the elites were planning for the destruction of democratic societies and a move to global governance by a central bureaucracy supported by academics.
in China, but still the power behind Obama and the liberal House and Senate of America. To start to understand this man and his influence read his statement below to a group of reporters.
“In order to save the planet, the group [GIM] decides: Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring this about? This group of world leaders [GIM] forms a secret society to bring about an economic collapse.”
Maurice Strong – regarding Generation Investment Management LLP
Like his close associate George Soros, Kyoto architect Strong, was one of the archtects of the Kyoto agreement, and the brains behind the global warming scare as a means to swing public opinion behind the Cultural Marxist plan for global government. He was also a member of the “Chicago Climate Exchange” an initiative to create a market for trading carbon credits designed to make its founders billions on climate change.
The audit report has exposed the dishonesty built into the climate change scare and the entire global government scheme. The climate treaties, accords and agreements, from Kyoto to Paris appear to be directed at the goal of making fake news the norm. Anomalies in IPCC data it has identified include at St Kitts in the Caribbean, the average temperature for December 1981 was zero degrees – unusual for the Caribbean to say the least, normally the average for that time of year is 26C. For three months in 1978, one weather station in Colombia reported an 82 degrees Celsius average – hotter than the hottest day on Earth. Can it be that these ‘scientists’ whom we are told we must believe because they are so very clever, do not know the difference between Celsius and Farenheit? Then in Romania, one September the average temperature was reported as minus 46°C, which has never happened as Romania is quite a long way from either the north or south pole. The published data revealed scientific survey ships have reported ocean temperatures from places up to 100km inland.
The paper also points out that the most serious flaw identified was the shortage of data. For the first two years, from 1850 onwards, the only land-based reporting station in the Southern Hemisphere was in Indonesia, then a Dutch colony. There were ship observations at the time but Australian records were not started until 1855 in Melbourne, behind Auckland, New Zealand, which started in 1853. The data used to calculate ‘pre – Industrial Revolution temperatures for these regions appears to have been completely fabricated.
According to records of the HadCRUT4 dataset on which calculations are based, it was almost 1950 before data from even half of the Southern Hemisphere was available. Yet they claim global warming has taken hold for 100 years prior to that. Tthe Paris Climate Agreement takes the HadCRUT4 average from 1850 to 1899 as an “indicative” temperature or pre-Industrial Revolution. There is absolutely no possible way the data set being used to support all this Global Warming is even valid for any forecast. And in fact the Industial Reovlution is generally accepted to have begun a hundred years earlier.
When Hausfrau – Volksfuhrer Merkel’s grip on Germany seemed unassailable she was free to let loose several personal sacred cows on the German people. One of course was her disastrous ‘open doors’ immigration police, another was the eqully disastrous green enegry policy, and now that is in ruins too.
Germany embarked on Energiewende in 2010 with the goal of eventually making Germany independent of fossil fuels. The idea was to phase out oil, coal, and natural gas to allow for drastic reductions in carbon dioxide emissions. Since 2009, Germany has spent over a hundred billion euros on solar and wind energy, but carbon dioxide emissions did not decline over that period. In fact, they have risen by about 2 percent. The financial obligations from the expansion of wind and solar energy will continue to burden taxpayers for another two decades and will end-up costing German consumers around 550 billion euros.
In 2017, Germany’s energy consumption was fueled primarily by fossil fuels (79 percent). Renewables including hydroelectric power provided 15 percent and nuclear energy 5 percent. Despite the generating sector providing just about one-fifth of Germany’s total energy consumption, it was targeted to phase out its fossil fuel generating capacity under Energiewende. When the tsunami hit Japan in 2011, Germany decided to phase out its nuclear power first despite the unlikelihood of a similar disaster hitting Germany. Germany’s nuclear generation has declined by 56 percent since it reached its peak in 2001. Germany’s nuclear plants are to be shut down by 2022 and its coal-fired plants are to be closed by 2030.
Germany backs up its wind and solar units with coal-fired and natural gas-fired generation. Germany has 36 billion metric tons of coal reserves and produces domestically about half the coal it consumes. Despite its desire to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, Germany is bulldozing centuries-old villages and displacing their residents to make way for open-pit brown coal (lignite) mines. Having very few reserves of natural gas, it imports natural gas by pipeline with over half of it coming from Russia. Germany is Europe’s biggest natural gas consumer, and its demand is expected to rise by about 1 percent over the next five years as it phases out its nuclear fleet.
… And Germany is running out of energy …
