Were it otherwise how could any sane person be involved in a study which reports that growing your own vegetables, fruit or recreational drugs in your garden is more harmful to ‘the planet’ than industrialised farming.

A study from the University of Michigan has concluded that, “The carbon footprint of homegrown foods is five times greater than produce from conventional agricultural practices, such as rural farms, data show.

looked at how much CO2 was produced when growing food in different types of urban farms and found that, on average, a serving of food made from traditional farms creates 0.07kg of CO2.

The impact on the environment is almost five times higher at 0.34kg per portion for individual gardens, such as vegetable patches or allotments.”

Jake Hawes, a PhD candidate at Michigan and first author of the study, said: “The most significant contributor to carbon emissions on the urban agriculture sites we studied was the infrastructure used to grow the food – from raised beds to garden sheds to pathways, these constructions had a lot of carbon invested in their construction.

The study, published in the journal Nature Cities, recruited 73 urban agriculture sites around the world, including Europe, the US, and the UK, and conducted a comprehensive life cycle assessment on the site’s infrastructure, irrigation and supplies.

Irish farmers protest plans to cull livestock to meet climate targets

There’s a new kid on the block in the bid to remove pollutants from the atmosphere to ‘save the planet,’ Nitrogen. “Hang on, isn’t that the stuff that make up 78% of our atmosphere? you might well ask. And some of you will be thinking “How the fuck can a gas that forms 78% of the air that we breathe be a pollutant?”
Well it can because the EU and the United Nations and the WEF and ‘The Science’ have all decided it is. So now while we are already trying to eliminate Carbon Dioxide, a trace gas essential to the existence of life on Earth by banning industry, and electricity and gas and oil and cars and aircraft and cheese and shampoo and …. well you get the picture, The Powers That Be are trying to ban food and fertiliser and cows (or to be specific cow farts but there’s only one way to stop a cow farting,) and chickens (or to be specific chicken shit but there’s only one … no, sorry that’s wrong, I’ve seen chickens shit after they are dead,) because all of these things emit either Carbon Dioxide or Nitrogen.

Greenteeth’s Boggart Abroad blog has reported many times on protests by farmers in Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Poland, Spain and other EU nations over plans to force them to cut livestock hers by 50% and stop using fertiliser to grow crops, but now it is Ireland’s farmers to be told that livestock and livelihoods must be sacrificed to the gods of Net Zero.

According to Ireland’s Independent, up to 65,000 dairy cows and 10% of the livestock herd would have to be removed from the national herd every year for three years at a cost of €200m ($215.2 million) if the farming sector is to “meet its climate targets.”

The figures come from an Irish government document the Independent obtained following a freedom of information request.

National climate targets in question include a 51% reduction in emissions by 2030 — the target year for the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals — and net zero carbon emissions by 2050, the Independent reported.

According to the Irish Mirror, a 25% emissions reduction goal has been set for the agricultural sector by 2030.

The government document proposes farmers receive compensation of up to €5,000 ($5,381) for each cow that is culled.

According to Remix News, the plans were first outlined in 2021. A report at the time recommended culling up to 1.3 million cattle to reduce emissions to “sustainable” levels.

There are approximately 2.5 million dairy and beef cows in Ireland, according to the Irish June Livestock Survey. Of these, 1.6 million are dairy cows — which have increased by 40% in the past decade — while beef cows total approximately 913,000, representing a decrease of 17% over the same period, the Irish Mirror reported.

Separately, Ireland’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a 115-page report in March that recommended “effective abatement of livestock emissions … of approximately 30% plus ruminant livestock number reduction [of] up to 30%.” … Continue reading >>>

And a report published in October 2022 by the Irish government’s Food Vision Dairy Group — established to “identify measures which the dairy sector can take to contribute to stabilization and subsequent reduction of emissions” — said there is an “urgent need to address the negative environmental impacts associated with dairy expansion.”

The report said dairy farmers could lose between €1,770 ($1,906) and €2,910 ($3,134) per cow removed.

Ireland, along with other EU member states and the U.S., are participants in the 2021 “Global Methane Pledge,” whose participants “agree to take voluntary actions to contribute to a collective effort to reduce global methane emissions at least 30 percent from 2020 levels by 2030.” …

While the money and political elites are turning up the climate change scareorator way past eleven once more in order to keep populations in a state of fear now that the COVID scare is crumbling, the finger of blame for the doomsday scenarios predicted by climate mathematical models is as usual being poointed at We The Ordinary Punters.

“WE are all in this together and YOU must make sacrifices to save the planet,” warn political leaders, clueless academics and the billionaire psychopaths who have bought control of politics, academia and the media. And few people stop to question why WE must make sacrifices while THEY continue to fly round the world in private jets, cruise the Mediterranean or Caribbean in luxury yachts that are more like floating palaces that leisure craft, and live in floodlit, air conditioned palaces that consume more energy than a middle sized town.

Well some of us do question, we are known to the majority as either online jornalists or ‘conspiracy theorists’ depending on a readers politics, and to the politicians, academics, billionaire psychopaths and people on their payrolls as “that bunch of awkward, really obnoxious bastards who refuse to believe ‘The Science’ and insist on challenging oppressive policies devised ‘for the greater good.’ 

Thanks to us bunch of awkward, really obnoxious bastards, and the statistics nerds at Statistia it is now becoming widely known that the world’s richest ten percent are responsible for an estimated 47 percent share of global CO2 emissions. This has been revealed by a recent study published in the journal Nature Sustainability, which focused on how tackling poverty worldwide would affect emissions of CO2, the harmless but demonised gas without which life is not possible but which has unscientifically been blamed for all the mathematical models of climate related catastrophes in the past thirty years. As Statista’s Florian Zandt shows in the chart below, the difference between the poorest and wealthiest people not only shows in their emission share.

Of course, the results are different depending on the region. In Europe, USA, Canada or Australia for example, the bottom 50 percent had a higher estimated share of total emissions than the top ten percent, while the top one percent in Sub-Saharan Africa were responsible for more carbon emissions than the bottom 50 percent.

Combating poverty (a goal only committed virtue signallers would see as realistic,) around the world would require an unprecedented level of cooperation between nations and present logistical challenges of a scale never before envisaged, its effects on global warming would be minimal according to the study.Lifting over a billion people above the official poverty line under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1 would only raise the estimated global CO2 output by roughly two percent, even though carbon emissions in low to lower-middle income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa  and South East Asia could potentially double.

However the top ten per cent are unlikely to make sacrifices to reduce their gigantic footprints, and while the high to middle income groups of the developed nations are more likely to respond to the manipulative propaganda of behavioural scientists, even their scope for making a difference is tiny compared to emissions generated by manufacturing industry, transport and agriculture.

Is Hatred Of Greta Thunberg Justified?

As the backlash against the Greta Thunberg cult gathers momentum a lot of lefties are asking why the little Climate Warriorette is so hated by so many people. As usual with the left, they are asking the wrong question. Just as they asked, “Why can’t you believe the scientists, they spend their lives studying climate, they know what they are talking about, why can’t you just accept the science is settled?” when in fact not only is it always legitimate (and scientific,) to question and challenge scientific theory, so it is perfectly rational and logical to challenge the Cult of Saint Greta.

“The science” on climate change was never settled of course, in fact a lot of it was very dodgy, being based on output from mathematical models run on computers managed by people with a career investment in persuading people to believe the catastrophes forecast by these computer models, which were fed adjusted data rather than information from observations of the real world.

This goes a long away towards explaining why none of the dire predictions of catastrophic natural disasters predicted by Warmageddonists over the past twenty five years has come true. It is 2020, snow is falling in Scotland and Northern England, in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Scandinavia, yet climate sciencetits (not a typo,) told us with great certainty that snow would be a thing of the past by 2010. Likewise they told us rapidly rising sea levels caused by the melting of the ice caps would submerge low lying nations like The Maldives by 2010. Earlier this week my brother booked his annual post Christmas holiday in The Maldives. He’s pretty certain it will still be there, because he went to the same resort last year and found it above water.

And yet, despite all the demonstrable evidence to the contrary, Warmageddonists still insist we must accept that “the science” is correct because sciencetits (not a typo,) are very clever and they say the science is settled.

The Greta Thunberg thing took off, I believe, because the Warmageddonist movement had lost so much credibility, they were desperate to prevent the wheels coming off their globalist bandwagon. And so they resorted to the dirtiest of tactics. Now that is backfiring too.

I don’t think it is hatred of Little Saint Greta that drives the criticism so much as that people dislike and are angered by the way the girl’s handlers are manipulating her to be the poster child for a campaign based on a particularly nasty kind of emotional blackmail. It is the same kind of blackmail as was used at the height of the European Union’s when pictures of a drowned child lying on a beach somewhere in the Greek Islands was accompanied by screaming headlines in mainstream media about how heartless Europeans were in not welcoming anyone who wanted to come from a third world country to “seek a better life” (a very emotive phrase,) in Europe.

It turned out the boy was not from a migrant family at all, but had been taken along for the ride by his father who was in the human trafficking business and drowned when the overloaded inflatable boat sank on the crossing from Turkey to Greece with a cargo of people who had paid exorbitant fees to be smuggled into the EU illegally.

I believe Greta Thunberg has just turned 17 so I started commenting on her activities when she was sixteen and one of the things I remarked on was that she was like no sixteen year old Swedish girl I encountered when working in that country a few years ago. They are mostly stylish, fashion conscious and desperate to give the impression they are older than their years. Greta Thunberg looked and dressed as a ten or eleven year old would, i.e. as a child. And she conjured childish tears when talking about her childhood being stolen. It was all carefully stage managed to play on the emotions of adults. I actually referred to her as a wannabe Pippi Longstocking, a reference to the children’s fiction character created by Astrid Lindgren (https://www.astridlindgren.com/en/characters/pippi-longstocking) in the 1940s, a little girl with special powers.

If Greta’s childhood has been stolen it is not by climate change, but by the people who are using (or abusing perhaps,) her to advance a political agenda.

So my view, shared by many other people around the web, is criticisms of Greta Thunberg are not motivated so much by anger at her, the socially inept teenager with learning difficulties and Asperger’s syndrome, as anger at the fictional character created by those who are managing her campaign and putting words in her mouth. People are more likely to feel sympathy for her.

Beyond that, there is a growing stack of evidence that the “science” behind the climate change scare is fraudulent, and the fact that United Nations climate experts have confessed that they look at output from mathematical models when formulating their long term forecasts rather than giving priority to real world evidence.

All of this damages the credibility of the case for destroying industrial civilization as does the focus of Ms Thunberg and other activists on demanding that the liberal democracies bear the full burden of reducing CO2 emissions while China (https://originalboggartblog.wordpress.com/2019/11/21/clean-green-power-sucks-china-goes-all-out-for-coal/), India, Brazil, Philippines, Nigeria and other developing nations continue to develop their industrial base without regard for the environmental effects of their economic expansion. The link in this paragraph leads to a page which exposes how many new coal powered generating plants are under construction or planned right now in China, it is more than in the whole of Europe. India is following the same path.

Finally, “the masses” as left wing intellectuals contemptuously refer to us ordinary people who work hard for decent living, do not like being treated as if we are stupid or told what we must think and how we must behave. In a democratic society we have a right to question “the science” of climate change, and when questioned it does not stand up to logical analysis. So Greta Thunberg’s handlers who send her across the Atlantic in a specially built carbon fibre yacht (check out how CO2 intensive the manufacturing process for carbon fibre is,) and the other elitists who fly halfway round the world in their private jets for a lunch meeting (Yes Leonardo DefuckingCaprio, I’m talking about you,) are hardly going the right way about winning the battle for hearts and minds are they? Personally I feel no hatred to Greta (just don’t get me started on Leonardo DefuckingCaprio,) but think the people who turned her into a social media phenomenon should be exposed for the abusive opportunistic charlatans they are.

I’ve had many arguments with the Warmageddonists, the people who have been saying that if we did not shut down all coal, oil and gas related activites the earth was going to turn into a giant furnace and we would all burn. When the scaremongering first started, the deadline for frying was “after dinner”. Then it got to “Tomorrow …… or the day after tomorrow perhaps,” then “next year”, “before 2050,” and eventually “soon.”

What if man-made climate change is all in the mind?

If our view of reality is shaped by the mind and our perceptions of information, how successful are attempts to manipulate the perceptions of the whole populations through manipulated data, spin and assertions of authority likely to be. As scientists and politicians moan that the public no longer take sertiously climate change scare stories, we have to conclude, not very.

The lying leftie paskudnyaks clean, green, save the planet machine and the worshippers of Greta Thunberg are always eager to tell us that China is the world’s biggest investor in sustainable energy and has more wind turnbines installed than any other nation on earth. It is the worst kind of lie because it is true, but only tells half the story. And someytimes being told half the story creates completely the wrong impression in the mind of the audience.

In this case the weirdie bearies and tree shaggers are giving the impression that by trashing our economies in the west, trying to meet unrealistic targets for eliminating carbon emissions we are being good global citizens, while by pointing out the stupidity of such ambitions shows we are evil capitalist sociopaths intent on destroying the planet.

So what is the full story?

While it is true that China has installed huge numbers of wind turbines, this is nothing to do with cleaning up the environment. China is installing wind turbines because then need electricity, end of story. At the same time China is planning to massively increase its coal-fired energy production. This makes a nonsense of claims by gullible Western politicians and dishonest environmental activists that China is as keen as anyone to do its bit to ‘combat climate change.’ by reducing CO2 emissions.

A report from Bloomberg reveals that China now has enough coal-fired generating plants in the various stages of planning and construction to match the entire capacity of the European Union, and that’s on top the ones they already have up and running. So much for doing their but to clean up the environment and show support for the movement against highly polluting fossil fuel.’

Bloomberg tells us:

“The nation has almost 148 gigawatts of coal-fired capacity under active construction or likely to be resumed after being suspended, Global Energy Monitor, a non-profit group that tracks coal stations, said in the press release Thursday based on plant-by-plant data. That’s almost equivalent to 150 gigawatts of existing coal fleet capacity in the EU and more than the combined 105 gigawatts under construction in the rest of the world, it said.”

China’s plans contrat with those of many other countries, including France’s goal of being a zero carbon economy by 2040 and the U.K.’s pledge to close all coal plants by 2025, (both of which cannot be achieved without irreversible damage to the economies of those countries. Beijing remains committed to coal as its biggest and cheapest source of electrical power, and also to sidelining the developed economies and achieving global economic hegemony. In effect The People’s Republic has thrown down a major challenge to global emissions reduction targets. Its additions in the 18 months to June dwarf declines elsewhere in the world, according to the report. Meanwhile western leaders are intent on taking orders from the Sewedish baby troll and destroying civilisation, all are so firmly committed to helping China’s world domination bid carbon free economies with the exception of Donald Trump who doesn’t seem to be committed to anything except making The Democrats look stupid.

None of this is news to climate realists, I have been warning for ten years that China was rapidly expanding coal fuelled energy generation while western leaders were talking about returning to medieval technologies like windmills. One of the main arguments put by climate change sceptics against concerted government action by the West to decarbonise its economies is that it takes no account of emerging economies like Nigeria’s, Pakistan’s Indonesia’s, India’s and, especially, China’s. Any attempts to cut carbon dioxide production in Western economies are more than offset by the growth in China’s CO2 output alone. And China’s is matched by the others mentioned.

This latest development was predicted in a report published last year by the Global Warming Policy Foundation.

Yesterday’s story featured a bunch of eco – hypocrites, rock band The 1975, whose latest album features eco – wunderkind Greta Thunberg reading a plea for us all to adopy zero emissions lifestyles to save the planet and who will shortly be jetting off on a world tour to promote their message (and album sales of course.)

Today we report on the eco – psychopathes of Extinction Rebellion and their insane plan to shut down Heathrow Airport by flying drones into the approach and take off flight paths of aircraft using the world’s busiest airport.

The eco-warriors have grown more ambitious but no more intelligent since their attempt to shut down London by blocking main roads in and out of the city centre anatagonised people rather than gaining support for their movement.
This time they’re calling themselves ‘drone activists’ and are planning to ground flights at Britain’s Heathrow throughout September.A drone activist group calling itself Heathrow Pause and described as a splinter of environmental group Extinction Rebellion has warned that on September 13 its members will be flying drones around Heathrow, forcing the grounding of flights as part of a protest at the planned expansion of the airport.

These protests cause a dilemma for many people, because while almost everyone wants to save the world, many of us believe the problems are not carbon dioxide emissions but population explosion and the toxic shite dumped in the environment by manufacturing processes and the kind of careless consumption promoted by governments, economists and scientists for decades as a means to maintain ‘growth.’

So apart from barking up the wrong tree on cause, the eco – nutters seem to target the wrong people with their brainless stunts. People have to travel on business and move goods around the globe, people want to go on holiday, and many actually want to come back from holiday before theor money runs out.

And who wouldn’t choose a week on the beach over protecting some small, unknown glacier in Iceland.

Perhaps activists need to take this into account when planning their public relations campaign. At the moment the environmentalists seem to believe that they can annoy the public into changing their behaviour with a series of seriously. Last time I checked that was called bullying and was a favourite tactic of fascist and communist groups that deal in authoritarianism.

The extremists targeting Heathrow say a legal loophole will allow them to fly drones near the airport without breaking the law. They will be flying toy drones at head height within restricted airspace which they believe will force all air traffic to be stopped without violating air safety regulations.

Some members claim they have discussed the plans with police in advance. This could cause hard liners to question their commitment, as telling the authorities in advance where, when and how you intend to disrupt air traffic give the cops chance to round up the would be perpetrators, charge them with conspiracy and bang them up on remand.This news blog would wholly approve of such action. Anything that gets a bunch of crusties who stink of patchouli oil off te streets and out of our nostrils improves the environment.

This latest plan to force us to care about climate catastrophe tells us as much about the intelligence of eco warriors as their belief that pissing off people who hope to persuade to share your point of view is  not usually the best way to boost support for a cause.

The activists justify their protest action by insisting they are raising awareness of climate change, but is there anyone in Britain for example that is not aware of the scaremongering or prophecies of doom over climate change that have been thrown about for the past twenty years? For a bunch of British boys ‘the 1975’ seem to lack the usual appreciation of irony as, according to an open letter written to the lads by Conservative MP David T C Davis, in their zeal to make the world understand how important it is that we all heed the Swedish Pippi Thurnberg’s message about the urgency of adopting zero emissions lifestyles, they will be jetting off with their road crew and all their heavy equipment to gigs in South Korea, Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and a series of venues across the USA.

And they will not be travelling anywhere by camel train, ox cart, horse drawn barge or even £4million carbon fibre superyacht, these Extinction Rebellion supporting zealots will be flying round the world by Jumbo Jet to teach us all about how irresponsible and selfish we are in flying off on business or pleasure trips by jet aircraft.

Maybe like Pippi Longstocking Thurnberg, The 1975 are far more enlightened than we know, and understand the extent of the climate catastrophe far better than a mature adult can ever hope to. Or maybe they are just a bunch of wankers who are so far up their own arses they have completely lost their self awareness.

Fifty years Of Apocalytic Global Warming Predictions And Why People believe Them

Scientists have known for some time that their predictive models of global warming were at increasing odds with the data. More recently, they have begun to pinpoint some of the faulty assumptions in the models used to make projections (not observations) of global warming. One example of this type of correction is a 2018 article published in the prestigious journal, Science.

Nitrogen availability is a central controller of terrestrial plant growth and, thereby, of the carbon cycle and global climate change. It has been widely assumed that the atmosphere is the main source of terrestrial nitrogen input. Surprisingly, Houlton et al. now show that bedrock is just as large a nitrogen source across major sectors of the global terrestrial environment.

Climate scientists have long known that plants offset some of the effects of climate change by absorbing and storing CO2. But they assumed that the ability to plants to perform this function was limited because the availability of nitrogen in the atmosphere was limited. As an earlier 2003 study published in Science stated, “there will not be enough nitrogen available to sustain the high carbon uptake scenarios.”

Scientists Accidentally Prove Global Warming Is A Hoax

Looks like scientists just admitted that the claims by global warming religionists is just a bunch of B.S. … but they probably didn’t realize that’s what they did.

A new report on climate change by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research made the accidental admission that the earth has seen these same levels of CO2 in the past and was not “destroyed” by it all.

As reported by the extremist, left-wing site Think Progress:

Wait…. so let’s get this straight: the last time we have CO2 levels like this was “three million years ago”?

When man was not around to cause it?

…And…and the earth is still here for us to talk about it?

Didn’t they just admit that even if man is contributing to some rise in temperatures, natural causes also contribute AND the earth won’t be destroyed by it?

The ‘Hunger Stones’ Crush Climate Change ‘Warmageddon’ Scaremongers.

Every time during the past twenty years when there has been a spell of unusually hot weather, the Global Warming fanatics have come crawling out from under the stones they hope wil protect them from the rampant sun’s merciless rays, screaming, “We told you so, you horrible climate deniers, the earth is being fried because you insist on driving cars, heating your homes, cooking you food and earning a living. And while they blether incoherently and unscientifically about carbon dioxide and human activity they continue to ignore history. The extreme heat in Europe this year is part of well (if unusually documented) irregular cycle.

Swings from extreme heat to extreme cold have been going on throughout recorded history. They have been recorded by medieval monks, renaissance era scholars, enlightenment era scientists and since the medieval era at least, by people with club hammers and stone chisels. One of the most unusual but irrefutable sets of historical evidence we have, and which is ignored by climate change scaremongers are known as the Hunger Stones.

Such events have been recorded when drought has resulted in the low level of water in the Elbe river.

The above scene is at Decin, in the Czech Republic. Throughout the centuries, there have been cycles of extreme heat followed by extreme cold (e.g. so called the mini ice age, when the River Thames in London froze each winter for several years and Londoners held ‘frost fairs’ on the ice).  Such fairs were also common in Europe where continental weather effcts generally make the winters colder than Britain’s

The hot, dry weather in Europe has, for the recorded time in over a century, exposed  the Hunger Stones that have been used for centuries to commemorate historic droughts which warn of their consequences when you see these stones again.It might be unwise to infer anything from this gap, given Europe’s political history in the twentieth centure it’s possible droughts occurred at times when people in Germany and central Europe faced bigger worries than drought.

The Hunger Stones are visible this year in the Elbe a major river which rises in the Czech Republic and flows west through Germany. There are more than a dozen Hunger Stones that serve as records of previous droughts establishing that the extreme heat and drought of this year is by no means unique to history.

The various Hunger Stones record droughts droughts that resulted in crop failure and famine on the stones dated 1417, 1616, 1707, 1746, 1790, 1800, 1811, 1830, 1842, 1868, 1892, and 1893, which covers a period of 476 years, which would take us from the end of the ‘medieval warm period’ to the end of the nineteenth century.You may remember in one of the most notorious global warming frauds, Professor Michael Mann, creator of the now ridiculed ‘hockey stick graph’ erased the medieval warm period from history.

Basing his calculations on tree ring data from bog oaks, tree trunks preserved in peat bogs, which he claimed showed no unusual climate trends in the medieval warm period (which lasted several hundred years,) because the tree rings in preserved oaks pulled from north European bogs showed average or less than average growth. Mann only succeeded in proving he is either dishonest or stupid. Cool weather is not the only cause of poor growth rates as any gardener or a novice biology student could tell you. Hot, dry weather will adversely affect growth as will any unusually dry period. Trees and plants need carbon dioxide, oxygen, temeratures in the right range, and water to grow.

Some scientific types have already noted that if we look at the above drought data it produces a gap average of 39.6 years.This only proves that scientists, like Michael Mann are idiots and wankers. A quick glance at the data would show there’s no regular pattern there. An intelligent person would immediately understand this is not a scientific record and the data is probably incomplete.

It is worth noting that two drought years used to obtain that average, 1892 and 1893 are back-to-back. It’s highly unlikely there were two separate droughts,  it probable there was ab extended dry period. In fact, additional evidence that is being ignored by the Global Warming crowd who seem intent upon leading society to its doom by ignoring the past entirely and persuading governments we must suck every molecule of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere (thus making the existence on Earth of carbon based life – forms – i.e. everything including us,) impossible.
