Face Masks Mandated By UK Government Specifically Say They Don’t Protect Against COVID-19

The Great Coronavirus Hoax Goes On

Earlier this week the UK government is enacted a law amking the wearing of surgical face masks in shops and on public transport compusory from July 24 onwards. We are told this is to protect people, both the wearer and others in close proximity against the spread of coronavirus. Unfortunately the masks the government are telling us to wear specifically state on their packaging that they do not protect against infection with coronavirus.

From July 24 anyone caught not wearing a mask while in a shop or supermarket will be liable for an on the spot fine of £100. The move is a blatant stealth tax and had prompted the London Metropolitan Police Foundation to complain that it will be unenforcable.

Even the packaging on the kind of cloth masks the government has recomended specifically states that they do not protect against COVID-19.

“This product is an ear loop mask. This product is not a respirator and will not provide any protection against COVID-19 (coronavirus) or any other viruses or contaminants,” states the packaging on a standard set of cloth masks currently being sold.

“Apart from everything else, the only coverings the Government is insisting on are cloth ones, which every man and his dog knows are COMPLETELY USELESS,” Toby Young wrote in the lockdown sceptics blog.

As Allison Pearson says in her excellent comment piece in the Telegraph, “anything other than tight-fitting, surgical-grade masks are utterly pointless – like trying to stop a bullet with a chain-link fence.

“There is literally no evidence that re-usable cloth masks are effective in community settings. None. It’s like wearing a tin foil hat in case you get struck by lightening – an ineffective way to protect yourself from an almost non-existent risk. What has become of us?”

Health Secretary Matt Hancock defended the government, claiming, “the wearing of masks will give people more confidence to shop safely and enhance protections for those who work in shops.” Many people have attacked the law to the law by insisting that they will avoid shops,  which will cause even more economic damage to communities.

Is Hatred Of Greta Thunberg Justified?

As the backlash against the Greta Thunberg cult gathers momentum a lot of lefties are asking why the little Climate Warriorette is so hated by so many people. As usual with the left, they are asking the wrong question. Just as they asked, “Why can’t you believe the scientists, they spend their lives studying climate, they know what they are talking about, why can’t you just accept the science is settled?” when in fact not only is it always legitimate (and scientific,) to question and challenge scientific theory, so it is perfectly rational and logical to challenge the Cult of Saint Greta.

“The science” on climate change was never settled of course, in fact a lot of it was very dodgy, being based on output from mathematical models run on computers managed by people with a career investment in persuading people to believe the catastrophes forecast by these computer models, which were fed adjusted data rather than information from observations of the real world.

This goes a long away towards explaining why none of the dire predictions of catastrophic natural disasters predicted by Warmageddonists over the past twenty five years has come true. It is 2020, snow is falling in Scotland and Northern England, in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Scandinavia, yet climate sciencetits (not a typo,) told us with great certainty that snow would be a thing of the past by 2010. Likewise they told us rapidly rising sea levels caused by the melting of the ice caps would submerge low lying nations like The Maldives by 2010. Earlier this week my brother booked his annual post Christmas holiday in The Maldives. He’s pretty certain it will still be there, because he went to the same resort last year and found it above water.

And yet, despite all the demonstrable evidence to the contrary, Warmageddonists still insist we must accept that “the science” is correct because sciencetits (not a typo,) are very clever and they say the science is settled.

The Greta Thunberg thing took off, I believe, because the Warmageddonist movement had lost so much credibility, they were desperate to prevent the wheels coming off their globalist bandwagon. And so they resorted to the dirtiest of tactics. Now that is backfiring too.

I don’t think it is hatred of Little Saint Greta that drives the criticism so much as that people dislike and are angered by the way the girl’s handlers are manipulating her to be the poster child for a campaign based on a particularly nasty kind of emotional blackmail. It is the same kind of blackmail as was used at the height of the European Union’s when pictures of a drowned child lying on a beach somewhere in the Greek Islands was accompanied by screaming headlines in mainstream media about how heartless Europeans were in not welcoming anyone who wanted to come from a third world country to “seek a better life” (a very emotive phrase,) in Europe.

It turned out the boy was not from a migrant family at all, but had been taken along for the ride by his father who was in the human trafficking business and drowned when the overloaded inflatable boat sank on the crossing from Turkey to Greece with a cargo of people who had paid exorbitant fees to be smuggled into the EU illegally.

I believe Greta Thunberg has just turned 17 so I started commenting on her activities when she was sixteen and one of the things I remarked on was that she was like no sixteen year old Swedish girl I encountered when working in that country a few years ago. They are mostly stylish, fashion conscious and desperate to give the impression they are older than their years. Greta Thunberg looked and dressed as a ten or eleven year old would, i.e. as a child. And she conjured childish tears when talking about her childhood being stolen. It was all carefully stage managed to play on the emotions of adults. I actually referred to her as a wannabe Pippi Longstocking, a reference to the children’s fiction character created by Astrid Lindgren (https://www.astridlindgren.com/en/characters/pippi-longstocking) in the 1940s, a little girl with special powers.

If Greta’s childhood has been stolen it is not by climate change, but by the people who are using (or abusing perhaps,) her to advance a political agenda.

So my view, shared by many other people around the web, is criticisms of Greta Thunberg are not motivated so much by anger at her, the socially inept teenager with learning difficulties and Asperger’s syndrome, as anger at the fictional character created by those who are managing her campaign and putting words in her mouth. People are more likely to feel sympathy for her.

Beyond that, there is a growing stack of evidence that the “science” behind the climate change scare is fraudulent, and the fact that United Nations climate experts have confessed that they look at output from mathematical models when formulating their long term forecasts rather than giving priority to real world evidence.

All of this damages the credibility of the case for destroying industrial civilization as does the focus of Ms Thunberg and other activists on demanding that the liberal democracies bear the full burden of reducing CO2 emissions while China (https://originalboggartblog.wordpress.com/2019/11/21/clean-green-power-sucks-china-goes-all-out-for-coal/), India, Brazil, Philippines, Nigeria and other developing nations continue to develop their industrial base without regard for the environmental effects of their economic expansion. The link in this paragraph leads to a page which exposes how many new coal powered generating plants are under construction or planned right now in China, it is more than in the whole of Europe. India is following the same path.

Finally, “the masses” as left wing intellectuals contemptuously refer to us ordinary people who work hard for decent living, do not like being treated as if we are stupid or told what we must think and how we must behave. In a democratic society we have a right to question “the science” of climate change, and when questioned it does not stand up to logical analysis. So Greta Thunberg’s handlers who send her across the Atlantic in a specially built carbon fibre yacht (check out how CO2 intensive the manufacturing process for carbon fibre is,) and the other elitists who fly halfway round the world in their private jets for a lunch meeting (Yes Leonardo DefuckingCaprio, I’m talking about you,) are hardly going the right way about winning the battle for hearts and minds are they? Personally I feel no hatred to Greta (just don’t get me started on Leonardo DefuckingCaprio,) but think the people who turned her into a social media phenomenon should be exposed for the abusive opportunistic charlatans they are.

Court documents cast doubt on Boris Johnson’s claim nerve gas is in ‘no doubt’ Novichok

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and Prime Minister Teresa May have in the past two weeks both gone out on a limb to accuse the Russian government and Vladimir Putin himself of having engineered the chemical attack in Salisbury UK which almost claimed the lives of former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter and led to many people with no connection to the spy or security services in Britain or Russia needing hospital treatment. Johnson has insisted that British chemical lab Porton Down told him the nerve agent used to attack the Skripals was definitely Novichok. However, court documents from a case which grated permission for investigators to take further blood samples from the two main victims, suggest there is no such certainty.

In an interview with Deutsche Welle on Thursday, the UK foreign secretary claimed that analytical chemists working at the UK’s chemical weapons facility at Porton were “absolutely categorical” in confirming to him that the source of the nerve agent, identified by the UK as A-234 – also known as Novichok – was Russian. Johnson said: “Let me be clear with you… the people from Porton Down, the laboratory… they were absolutely categorical and I asked the guy myself, I said, ‘Are you sure?’ And he said there’s no doubt.”

A decision from a High Court Judge on Thursday, however, granted permission to take new blood samples from Sergei and Yulia Skripal for analysis by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).

In his judgment, Justice David Basil Williams included a summary of the evidence, revealing Porton Down’s analysis. The judgment, which includes sworn court evidence from a Porton Down chemical and biological analyst, reads: “Blood samples from Sergei Skripal and Yulia Skripal were analyzed and the findings indicated exposure to a nerve agent or related compound. The samples tested positive for the presence of a Novichok-class nerve agent or closely related agent.”

Former British ambassador to Uzbekistan Craig Murray wrote in a blog post that the evidence therefore does not unequivocally confirm that nerve agent used on the Sripals is definitely Novichok (which is a relatively easy substance to produce,). Murray also claimed that scientists at Porton Down have failed to find evidence of Russian “culpability” as Novichok and similar substances can be produced from easily obtained materials by any comptent laboratory technician.

The judgment comes despite multiple affirmations from the UK government that the nerve gas came from Russia. The evidence given in court raises questions over the information provided by the government to parliament, the EU, NATO, the United Nations and the public.

So as usual on the longer timeline I was right, they hysterical hand wringers were just being hysterical (one of them, a prize dick, asked me if I knew what hysterical meant – yes I do, both in the medical and the colloquial context and it is used colloquially here – do not be taken in by any argumentum ad auctōritās from some cupid stunt waving his qualifications at us or claiming he is a university lecturer as if that gives him some divine right to tell us what to think.

One of the two biggest stories in 2014 was the complete disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 on a routine flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Seven months later not a trace of the Boeing 777 aircraft or any of its passengers has been located. As the official explanations grow increasingly more ludicrous, German magazine Spiegel Online is running an interview with Sir Tim Clark, CEO of Emirates Airlines who shares some interesting thoughts on what might have happened to the large and technically advanced aircraft. He also has some strong opinions on what certainly did NOT happen to it.

Clark (64) has been a senior manager for Emirates since 1985 and has played a big part in developing it into one of the world’s largest airlines. He is an acknowledgeable expert on the aviation industry. His view of the vanished Malaysian Airlines flight MH 370 is a provocative one. The plane that disappeared was a Boeing 777 and Emirates operates 127 such aircraft, more than any other airline in the world.

I Wonder if the screamers are going to dismiss him as a ‘conspiracy theorist’ because if they don’t, they owe me and many other rational thinkers in new media an apology. More likely they will just retreat further into the realm of fantasy.

Regular readers may have noticed that while Boggart Blog’s editor was busy with other things, the team carried on endeavouring with the persistence of old fashioned investigative reporters who wore grubby Aquascutum raincoats and battered brown trilby hats tilted towards the back of their heads, always had a cigarette in their mouths and were never far from a glass of whisky (sorry, while we had builders in I rediscovered an old Dashiell Hammet novel) our efforts to present ALL the latest news and opinion on the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over Ukraine have attracted trolls who seem to work on the principle that any ideas straying from the FUKUS axis propaganda must be suppressed.

I’ll deal with them another time.

While media attention was focused on the accusations and denials, claims and counterclaims and general incoherent babble from the two sides, another strange episode was unfolding in Ukraine, the case of The Convoy That Never Existed.

A story that broke in mainstream media last Thursday (14 August). headlined by one online news site as Disinformation War In Ukraine Escalates”, it reported a Russian military convoy was attacked and almost completely “eliminated” on Ukraine territory on Thursday night, a statement which was also “confirmed” by none other than the Ukraine president, yet where not a single trace of evidence was released showing any such convoy destruction. Strange really because reporters from The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph reported having witnessed the burned out vehicles of the convoy “with their own eyes.” (echoing Gulf War Iraqi information minister Comical Ali.

So we were obviously in for yet another round of the war of disinformation, misinformation, deception, spin and downright lying, which we got on Sunday when Ukraine accused pro-Russian rebels on Monday of hitting a refugee convoy of buses with rocket fire near the eastern city of Luhansk, killing people trapped in the burning vehicles.

Andrei Purgin, deputy prime minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic countered by saying, “The Ukrainians themselves have bombed the road constantly with airplanes and Grads. It seems they’ve now killed more civilians like they’ve been doing for months now. We don’t have the ability to send Grads into that territory,” said .

Another rebel spokesman denied any civilian convoy had been struck, challenging the Kiev authorities to produce evidence. (Given the Kiev government or their supporters abysmal record on producing evidence to support Kiev’s claims, we would advise you not to hold your breath.)

So what if anything might have happened – and bear in mind that any statements from blog.co.uk’s resident simple minded scientist (read the comment thread under that link) to the effect that “Barack Obama says the Kiev regime are the good guys so they must be telling the truth,” do not constitute evidence.

Soon after reports of the alleged Ukrainian attack on Russia’s convoy hit western news feeds, the Russian defense ministry responded, saying that no Russian military column had crossed into Eastern Ukraine, and that reports were based on “some fantasies.”

This is where the breakdown of logic occurs, because for Russia to make such a formal statement the Russian government obviously believes there is no evidence of destruction of a Russian convoy in Ukraine territory, something which obviously would exist if indeed as Ukraine’s president had claimed, the “majority of the machines had been eliminated.”

If true, it also implies that either Ukraine had fabricated the entire story, and certainly the part about the destruction of the convoy and by extension that Russians had ever entered into East Ukraine.

Unless, of course, there is evidence in the form of wrecked vehicles that something had happened, in which case the eye witness reports from the Guardian and Telegraph reporters (who, no matter what you think of their respective papers, are not idiots) are valid but a misunderstanding of what was seen.

More to the point, the onus is on Ukraine to present some evidence, in fact any evidence, of a destroyed Russian military convoy instead of merely building upon a story conceived by the two UK media outlets, because if Ukraine indeed has no evidence, then its story falls apart and what’s worse, the credibility and reputation of its government, of NATO and certainly of the UK press would be in tatters.

So if Ukraine did not destroy a Russian convoy because there was no Russian convoy, but the British reporters saw wreckage that was evidence of an attack, what other possibility is there? Well, one that would destroy the credibility of the Ukraine government even more comprehensively than being caugh lying again, namely that in their enthusiasm for blowing things up, the Ukrainian military may have destroyed a convoy of its own military vehicles. A possible lead to such a turn of events comes from this Interfax report citing the leadership of the breakaway Donetsk People’s Republic.

“The leadership of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic has dismissed the Ukrainian government’s statement on destroying a convoy of what appeared to be Russian armored vehicles in eastern Ukraine.

“We haven’t received any armored vehicles from Russia. No Russian units, including Russian armored vehicles, have crossed the border. Hence, no Russian armored vehicles could have been destroyed,” DPR First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Purgin told Interfax on Friday evening.

But perhaps the most damning evidence comes from none other than the White House itself, which according to CNN just admitted that while it accuses Moscow of “incursions” it can’t confirm the convoy was destroyed by Kiev.

So as I said, this post is to help readers deal with pro war trolls, sick neo-fascist freaks that they are. It shows how to assemble evidence from many sources and analyse it. Trolls have no use for evidence, they work for one side or the other and merely repeat propaganda. And you’ve seen above how reliable a source propaganda is.

Having crossed swords this morning with someone who is quite sure that every word of propaganda is absolute gospel truth and he works in a university so knuckle dragging oiks such as me, who do not spend their lives insulated from reality in universities have no right to disagree with him (Boggart Blog tip: If you want to play the intellectual bully the first requirement is to actually possess an intellect,) therefore there can be no doubt whatsoever that Vladimir Putin personally fired the missile that brought down the Malaysia Airlines flight over Ukraine (I love hyperbole).

I love the naive belief of these “evidence based thinkers” that the inability of us sceptics to prove the Russian separatists did not do it serves as proof that they did. But I would remind readers that Boggart Blog has never said the pro Russian rebels in Ukraine did not bring down the plane, only that the evidence they did that has so far been offered is flimsy and full of holes. There is also much stronger evidence emerging which implicates the Kiev government. This may turn out to prove nothing more that the Kermlin propaganda dept. is more competent than the British and American propaganda departments.

Saying “Our guys are wearing white hats so the other guys are guilty,” is not how scepticism works however. And the problem our “evidence based” chums often encounter is that evidence does not necessarily confirm their wild assumptions.

Despite ongoing violence in eastern Ukraine, including the recent downing of two military aircraft, Ukrainian aviation officials had closed the region’s airspace only below 32,000 feet in altitude.

The Boeing 777, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital, with 298 people aboard, was at 33,000 feet when it vanished from radar screens, according to European aviation authorities.

That report does not prove responsibility but it does show the failure of western governments to make commercial airlines aware of the risks of overflying Ukraine’s conflict zone. It does however note that western intelligence was aware the only SAM equipment the rebels have is the MANPAD shoulder held launcher which fires missiles effective up to altitudes of 17,000 feet.

Reuters comments:

Yes, they most certainly did. Nearly three months ago, on the “Special Rules” section of its site, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration put out an order prohibiting American pilots, airlines, charter carriers, and everyone else over whom the FAA has direct jurisdiction, from flying over parts of Ukraine.

So we see that it is not quite so clear cut as White Hats and Black Hats. I must admit to not having a clue who was responsible for bringing down Flight MH17 or whether it was a deliberate act of terrorism or a terrible accident.

What I find obscene however is the eagerness of politicians and media commentators in the west to blame Russia (and possibly provoke a global war – yesterday I wrote about what the mainstream media are not telling you, forgetting to mention that the Chinese have condemned the FUKUS axis rush to blame Russia). Has everyone forgotten already the false flag gas attack in Syria, the ‘humanitarian mission in Libya which turned into a regime change war and turned Libya into a failed state and the failed wars in Iraq and Afghanistan initiated by the western powers.

Western leaders don’t just want war, they’re mad for it. Perhaps they think that as in the 1930s, a global conflict will pull the west out of a prolonged economic depression.

The idea of nations being run in reality not by elected governments but by a cabal of corporate leaders, bankers and for want of a better term, “old money” is hardly novel. For years those naive fools who delude themselves they are intellectuals denied the existence of The Bilderberg Group, now thanks to incessant pressure of “nut jobs and conspiracy theorists” we know it does although they still do not offer press releases, minutes of their meetings or an official annual report. Which gives the real conspiracy theorists, the thickos who support officialdom and worship power and authority trying to sell the line “Ah but you can’t PROVE they are not just a bunch of rich people getting together for a jolly old chinwag over coffee and cake can you?”

Well no, we can’t, and we can’t prove that these wannabe elitists really despise the masses they pretend to care about. But while the science heads and academics ask us to accept their word backed up by the flimsiest of evidence, I go for the legal term “beyond reasonable doubt.” And I can say, on the balance of evidence it is beyond reasonable doubt that whatever the elite (The Establishment) get up to in secret is not in the best interests of we the punters.

Climategate: Absence Of Evidence…

Carl Sagan is said to have coined the phrase “Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.”

Modern education is however fostering an extremely blinkered mindset in which evidence is being accorded much greater importance than it deserves. Show me any piece of evidence that “proves” an argument and I will show you how it could be faked.

This week the House Of Commons Science And Technology Committee has ben investigating claims that at the University Of East Anglia (formerly known as Ipswich Tech.) members of the Climate Research Unit destroyed data to hide their manipulation of the results of their research into Climate Change and make sure they obtained the answer their sponsors wanted.

Unsurprisingly although the Committee of Parliamentarians criticized the team for lack of openness they found there was “no evidence” of results being manipulated.

Well there wouldn’t be would there? The scientists had destroyed the data.
